My son wears orthotics in his shoes to help with gait. He needs light and wide shoes. These are perfect for him. We'd been buying Stride Rite shoes, but can't find them in his size anymore. These are as good or better. It's next to impossible to find these shoes in brick and mortar stores. So, Amazon gets double kudos. Plus we got them for less than XXX dollars (Roman numbers), which is just fantastic.

Bought these for my 3-year old son who has an extra wide foot. I cannot find him x-wide in regular retail stores. These fit great! Velcro closure not only makes it easy for him to put on and take off but it helps adjust the size for his wide (and thick) foot. I highly recommend these to anyone who has a child with a wide/x-wide foot.

Light, Comfortable, True to Size, Make my 5 year old run FASTER!!!! My 5 year old son LOVES this shoes. The velcro strap is very high quality and with the right width to ensure it the velcro stays on! We took our son out for a test drive on a track, and he ran a quarter mile track without stopping. He loves running and he said this is the best running shoes ever! It made him run faster!! I will definitely go back and buy this again once my son outgrow the one we just got!! The material is very stretchy, like elastic. Even the laces, which makes it challenging to get them to feel just right on my feet. The pic don't show it, but the mesh areas have a silver or metallic shine to it.

Cheap Salomon Men's XR Crossmax 2 Trail Running Shoe

Decent shoe but vastly different from Crossmax 1's. If you are looking at getting these because you love your Crossmax 1's you need to pump the brakes and go try them on somewhere first. The sole is 1/2" narrower which effects stability. The lower cut also makes you feel unstable. Sizing is 1/2 size smaller than Crossmax 1. Fits narrower than Crossmax 1. The new style tongue is awkwardly tall and looks kinda lame. It's too different from previous generation to call Crossmax. I run and backpack in Salomons and I would NOT recommend this particular model.

I was fearful ordering this after reading the various reviews, but as a former Crossmax 1 owner, I've not been displeased in the least with the 2. It's a bit stiffer right now, but no more so than I remember the 1. The grip is superior and does appear to have the increased durability it's supposed to. I find the fit to be the same (and I continue to switch back and forth with my 1s--I'm a forefoot striker, so I'm not particularly concerned with mid-sole break down in the rear--just the tread wear up front, which with the 1's is substantial).

I've been on these almost everyday for six weeks now, and I'm happy. I run only on trails, by the way.

I am a huge fan of Salomon shoes it's the only brand I buy. I fell in love with the orginal Crossmax guidance so when i found out they don't make them anymore i decided to try the crossmax 2. the over all shoe is nice but it fits completely different, it seems to sit a little lower then the previous model so it doesn't seem as snug. So far i've logged about 10 miles on the 2's and they seem to be ok. I don't know why if it ain't broke don't fix it....

The Crossmax 1 was an amazing shoe! This model, corssmax 2, lost depth and volume in comparison to the crossmax 1. My toes were more cramped and it felt like my heel was going to slip out of the shoe. I returned them and went with the XR Mission model which fits more closely to the way the Crossmax 1 did.

I already have another pair of Fila Skele-Toes (the Amp shoe) and it's the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I have a wet corn between the 3rd and 4th toes, and the Amp shoe (and fila socks) actually keep it from hurting. I wanted a second shoe that didn't have garish colors, so a family member gave me the 3.0 for Christmas. Unfortunately, they're not designed the same. There's heavy stitching down the back of the shoe at the heel, and it hurt my heels and made a red mark after only an hour or so wearing the shoes around the house. Big disappointment. It would be nice if Fila had more styles that were socially acceptable when you're not hiking, mountain-climbing or boating.

Have been using these inserts since 1980. That year I ran my first marathon with Spenco's in my running shoes. Finished in 4 hours and 30 minutes with no blisters. My feet felt better than the rest of me. My wife now needs help as she walks on a concrete floor at work. These helped out and now she has no foot pain after work.

I have used Spenco Rx Comfort Insoles for around 15 years now. I would not even consider wearing athletic or casual shoes without them. The only reason I do not usually wear them in my dress shoes is that I wear prescription orthotics over them and they don't fit in my dress shoes. They provide just the right amount of cushioning, are easy to keep clean, and last for years if rotated regularly. As a matter of fact, I am placing an order now to replace two pairs I have had since 2005. The old ones are still usable but starting to lose a bit of their cushioning. One of the few "perfect products" I have ever bought.

They came as advertised and arrived on time. These run a bit small. I ordered 10-11 mens and I wear size 11 shoe. These do not go all the way to the end of my shoe and therefore slip around. They were recommended by my foot doctor and seem to be fine other than they are too small. I'd give them five stars if they were sized properly. Order a size larger than you need and cut them to fit.

I posted a version of this review on a competitor's site and so loved these shoes that I thought I would post it here as well...

These are one of those shoes that hooks you a few miles into your first run with them. They are firm, but not punishing (like, say the first NB MR10s), with a nice bit of resiliency added. The fulcrum "technology" actually seems to function really well. You find yourself seeking out a midfoot strike and when you do the footfall is silent and very smooth. The denser material that the fulcrum is made of adds a bit of stability that this neutral runner found rather pleasing. It's hard to describe, but your feet just feel solid and still as they go through the gait. The upper is nice and smooth on top of your foot, with nothing in the way of hotspots. Most people will want to hook a lace through the rearmost spot if you don't want slippage. Overall, this is a wonderful shoe particularly if you want something that's no-nonsense, in the range of firmness of a Mizuno, and brings a unique sensation to the table in terms of the fulcrum-affected footstrike (very pleasing when you're running economically). An impressive effort from a company that hasn't even warranted being on my radar in the past. I love these more and more as time goes on. I've currently got about 140 miles on these, and look forward to each run. They are probably my current favorite road shoes in my sizeable collection. These wedges are to die for. I bought them in black and cobalt blue and they are the most comfortable pair of sneakers/wedges I have slipped on. The are true to size (european) size that is and I wear a 7.5 US so I got the 38 EU and its a perfect fit. I bought these to take with me to Italy and these are all I wore while I was there. Definitely give these 5 stars and a must have to any girls shoe collection.

I run marathons and always have issues with something aching because I pronate either my ankles, knees, or hips. Since switching to Puma 800s I haven't had any of those issues. They have corrected my stride greatly, and running feels so much better! They are very light weight and breathable. Another reviewer said the balls of their feet were sore after running in them, and mine were too at first. But that isn't a fault of the shoe... it is going from no arch support to a crazy amount of arch support. My feet weren't used to having something push up on my arches, and they got a little achey and blistered. It didn't take long to adjust, and now I am running pain free.

The shoe is a little funky looking. Mostly just because it is so wide. But running isn't about fashion, and I will take some funky shoes if they make my knees and hips feel better!

I love these shoes!! So comfortable! I get so many compliments on these shoes every time I wear them.

** One thing to note is that they may feel a little snug at first and you may think you should have ordered a bigger size but don't! They fit perfectly once you break them in. Takes about a day or 2. Or you can take them on a run and that should do the trick. If you are someone who normally buys Nike's then you know they tend to run a little on the bigger side so I recommend you order your usual Nike size (for me its typically 1/2 size smaller)

This shoe was my choice after trying on various Salomons, La Sportiva and other Montrails.

The tread is pretty agressive. Great for trails or ultralight hike-throughs.

I just put 9 miles on them this morning, they felt great!

Out of all the trail running shoes these were by far the widest non-wide sole and the most comfortable option for me.

I regularly run on single track mountain bike trails. My previous dedicated trail shoe was The North Face Ultra 104 GTX. They were hot, heavy, and the traction lacked. After they wore down, it was time to look for new shoes. I am always somewhat limited with shoe options by a size 14 shoe.

My wife and friends love the Brooks Cascadia trail shoes, so I tried them. They were very tight in the toe-box, so I sent them back.

I had heard good things about Montrail and I found the Badrocks for $65 in my size. The size 14's fit great. Nice room in the toe box, and good grip in the heel.

The plan was to try them out for the first time, a short 3-4 miles on the trail. 8 miles later and ready for more, I was loving them. Totally comfortable, surprisingly light, good cushion but doesn't feel like running in platform shoes, not even a hot spot, and excellent traction. I am very impressed. I cannot comment on durability, and time will tell. Thus far I am a huge fan!
