This shoe was my choice after trying on various Salomons, La Sportiva and other Montrails.

The tread is pretty agressive. Great for trails or ultralight hike-throughs.

I just put 9 miles on them this morning, they felt great!

Out of all the trail running shoes these were by far the widest non-wide sole and the most comfortable option for me.

Pros:

Lots of toebox room

Wraps your heel and ankle well

Agressive cleat-like tread for trails

These are my first trail running shoes and i did 3 miles the day i got them and I had no problems!!! I went a size down and i am glad i did! I am using these shoes strictly for running on the wooded trails here in Ga!!!!!!

Very comfortable, light weight and cool looking. Only thing I would change is take the name of the mfg off the side of the shoe or make it smaller. I'm not big on being a walking billboard.

love the color, there is plenty of room in the toe box and it is breathable.it is a well built and sturdy shoe, i do wish it had a little more cushion. i would buy again.

I regularly run on single track mountain bike trails. My previous dedicated trail shoe was The North Face Ultra 104 GTX. They were hot, heavy, and the traction lacked. After they wore down, it was time to look for new shoes. I am always somewhat limited with shoe options by a size 14 shoe.

My wife and friends love the Brooks Cascadia trail shoes, so I tried them. They were very tight in the toe-box, so I sent them back.

I had heard good things about Montrail and I found the Badrocks for $65 in my size. The size 14's fit great. Nice room in the toe box, and good grip in the heel.

The plan was to try them out for the first time, a short 3-4 miles on the trail. 8 miles later and ready for more, I was loving them. Totally comfortable, surprisingly light, good cushion but doesn't feel like running in platform shoes, not even a hot spot, and excellent traction. I am very impressed. I cannot comment on durability, and time will tell. Thus far I am a huge fan!
