Cheap INOV8 Mudclaw 300 Unisex Trail Running Shoe

This is a great Trail Shoe. I run off road trail races, Mud Races, Spartan Races etc. These shoes see it all, from Mud, to rocks, to Hills, and Slippery Trails. They perform great in all of these conditions. I have better traction with these then almost anyone else on the trail. Running at Full Speed down a muddy, slippery hill, when everyone else is reduced to a slow walk is great. The only issue that I have is that when fully submerged in water, They do not drain very well due to all the side protection. I would like some outlets for the water, and this would be a 5 star shoe. The MudClaw 265's look like they will drain better, but are a 3mm drop, instead of the 6mm drop on this shoe. I like the 6mm drop though. My next purchase may be the 265's though to see if the 3mm makes a difference to me or not, but with better drainage.

They run a bit on the larger size for me, so I did not go up the usual 1/2 size on running shoes with this one.

Recommendation: I always wash in the washing machine after each race,and hang dry. They look brand new still.

This is a great looking shoe. Very colorful, with a unique look. My feet are a bit wide so I found the shoes fit a bit tight at first, but now they've stretched out and are just right. I usually wear a Mens size 8 but I ordered these shoes one size up (in a Mens size 9). I am sure glad I did because they fit perfect in length. So be sure to order up a size not down if you're not sure.

I bought the mint green pair with the koi design, and loved them so much that I bought two more colors of this style! I wear them every weekend with shorts or skinny jeans, and they are more comfortable for me than Converse (which I feel runs narrow across the toes). One pair rubbed a bit at the back of the ankle, but they loosened up after a couple of wears and now they are perfect. I don't usually wear socks, but if you wear socks this won't be an issue at all.

The designs are beautiful and I get so many compliments every time I wear them. And I love that these slip on! Be sure that you view them from all sides before purchasing, because the design is usually different on the outside from the instep side. I'm an adult women and not into snakes and skulls, so some Ed Hardy sneakers aren't for me, but the three I purchased are fun and artful designs, and I plan to buy more Ed Hardy!

Although heavier than I like in a trail running shoe, I bought them for some upcoming adventure races. This past Sunday I ran a trail 1/2 marathon in inclement weather. Trail was a mix of frozen ruts, sheet ice, rocky single track, and a few creek crossings and boggy areas where the ice was broken through. While everyone else was trying to stay dry, picking their way through, I ran straight through everything. Feet stayed dry, stable, no falls on the ice, no twisted ankles, and they almost cleaned themselves afterward.

I purchased this product in early November and was very impressed with how comfortable and lightweight these boots are. These boots may not be designed for daily use. I wear them daily in Afghanistan. While my job is an office job, I daily walk through the rocks. The sole of the boots have held up quite well. However, after a couple of months of use, holes started to develop in the cloth on top of the toe box. Generally, I am not hard on shoes or boots and have never had shoes or boots develop holes in this area of my footwear. I may have purchased these boots a half size too large, but I am not sure that would cause holes to develop.

I have had good experience with backcountry (the seller) in the past. However, my experience with them and their lack of concern about selling a defective product has soured my opinion of them as a retailer.

Overall, I am disappointed in paying as much as I did for these boots and them not holding up.

The 1st generation lasted about 2years at moderate used. By moderate, I meant no running, hiking etc just wore from home to office, office to home, 5 days a week. Pretty happy, so bought this 2nd generation on Dec 26 2012 for $170. I wore approximately no more than 10 times in my apartment to break it in and the lacet storage pull tab teared apart (see pictures). Contacted Amazon on 03/14/2013, graciously and immediately Amazon customer rep respond and send me a new pair in exchanged. For this Amazon is rated No1 online seller in my book. I just receive them today 03/19/2013, after examining the shoes and gently pull on both tabs, the right foot tab already starts to yield and tear at the corner (see pictures and accompanied notes). In my opinion the root cause is Salomon Company cut corners by not reinforcing the pull tab like the 1st generation. Contacted Amazon again today and I am not sure what the outcome will be. In any case, I will look and hope that the 1st generation is still available out there.

Broke new pair in on a rainy weekend on the Georgia section of the AT. 4 miles, 1300 ft on Saturday; 5 miles, 1800 ft on Sunday. Went with 1/2 size larger than "street shoe" size. Perfect fit for me. Lots of water/mud on trail...these guys performed as advertised. Was skeptical about one-pull lacing system before buying, but it works great on the trail...big fan now. Keepers for sure!

for their intended application light trails and fire roads these are fantastic shoes. yes, they fit very close to the foot. i would not call then 'small' since i wear the same size in these as in other shoes. but they are intended to be minimalistic, close fitting, thinner than typical midsoles, no removable insoles. i have not had any of the durability problems mentioned by others, and have been wearing mine for almost a year. i like them so much i bought another pair when i saw them on sale, just in case mine wore out prematurely and/or vasque discontinued them in the future. those are still sitting in my closet, waiting for their day. meanwhile my first pair keeps putting on the miles. 5 stars.

I have purchased the VASQUE brand in the past and have been satisfied with them. I have some mild foot problems, and normally buying Merrell exclusively. That being said i was looking at these and decided to take a chance. I read many good reviews, and many bad reviews so it was hard to make a decision. These are the facts about this shoe: #1. It fits small. Maybe not a half size small, but small. It is more narrow than other shoes of medium width. #2. It is very nice looking. I was pleased with how it looked and the quality of the materials used. #3. It does NOT have a removable insole. What it has is a hard "air cushioned" space between your foot and the sole. Well i didn't feel any air cushioning in these shoes. I tried them on for a few minutes and they already hurt my feet. I am really surprised that a company of Vasque's stature would sell a product like this. Terrible footbed. As i wanted a red accent running shoe and didn't find any Merrell's to my liking i'm going to give the North Face Double Track a try.

I believe these are very good shoes for the right person and the right application. Unfortunately they weren't the best match for my needs. I run exclusively in the mountains, most of the time off trail--actually where I run most of the time no trails even exist.

The surfaces I run on, by definition, are always uneven and rugged. As such, I need a shoe with great traction and extra protection around the upper surfaces of the toebox due to cactus. I will sacrifice weight savings for extra "armor" because nothing ruins a run quicker that multiple cactus "stings".

Unlike most people, I supinate which means I cannot use a shoe that has a great deal of pronation correction. This limits the choices quite a bit.

I have tried many shoes including Sportiva, Adidas, Inov8, Puma, Salamon, New Balance, Nike, and the list goes on.

I have resigned myself to the fact that there is not perfect shoe for me. I just keep trying them until I find one I like and pass the unwanteds on to my brother who will wear anything if its free.

my answer was definitely my shoes.

This is pretty cool looking shoes and I was more happy when it fit right and was so comfortable. I was little skeptical because initially I thought it was pretty flashy, litte bold than I usually wear or jazzy but it just looks fine and cool when you wear them with your casual jeans.

I just wear to my work (casuals are allowed) or anywhere I go out its just feels right. I must warn you this one is quite a head turner.

I am quite active doing a lot of cardioboxing, zumba, and strength training per week. As I have a high arch, I was looking for a pair of trainers with good cushioning, ankle support, and traction (to work out on slippery hardwood floors). I tried Nike Free Fit and New Balance Minimus and each was good in part, but not overall. The ASICS GEL-170TR did the trick. The first time I tried them on they felt right. The reason I'm not giving them full 5 points is that they are a bit heavy and thus not 100% comfortable when doing cardioboxing kicks. One more point: I read in other reviews that they run short. This wasn't the case for me. I have a normal width foot (medium) and I just purchased my usual size in trainers.

I have very wide feet. Even though I am a woman, I have tried men's shoes, and other extra wide women's shoes but have never tried ASICS. I got the widest size and they are still a little snug, but are definitely more comfortable than most of the athletic shoes I have purchased. I do like the support they give. If they were not as snug as they are, I would have given them a 5 star rating. Seems like I cannot get a shoe to fit the way I want, but these are absolutely better than most I have purchased.

My 8 year old daughter absolutely loved the style and color of this shoe. However, she needs the wide width. We have been loyal to Stride Rite for years due to the lack of wide width shoes available by other companies. To my surprise, this was actually offered in wide sizes so we gave it a try. The color and style are as pictured (hence the 2 stars), but these are NOT wide width at all. There is nothing on the shoe label itself to indicate it is a wide width (although the box is marked as such). I returned the shoe and re-ordered thinking it was a packaging error. When I received the second shipment there was no difference. She could not get her foot into her regular size. I ordered up a size too and although she got it on, it was way too narrow in the front and hurting her. We are going to try New Balance next as the Stride Rite styles are becoming less age appropriate as she gets older. If you are looking for a true wide width shoe, I do not recommend this sneaker.

I wear these 12-16 hours a shift on very hard floors , and I am on my feet non stop. The arch support is super for someone with an extremely high arch, also the lunar padding gives a little extra padding along with the air max. If your a runner these aren't going to give you the breath-ability you want so go with a mesh version but if you work in healthcare and need an all leather shoe get these now!! These blow my Shox out of the water, and I swear by Reebox zigs and they are even better than those.

I cannot say enough good things about these shoes. I am active, but have never ran in shoes with a minimum to no sole before. I suggest trying a pair on in person before ordering these online. I am a 9.5 and got a 41, but everybody is different. I was worried about the length of my toes being crunched in these like most toe socks, but its NOT the case. They help align your posture, almost train you to stand/walk/run the correct way. I tried running in a minimum sole shoe for a couple of weeks before I bought these, to help the transition and it helped, however I am sure no matter how experienced you are, it will STILL take a beating on your calf and feet muscles. Make sure you buy a pack of moleskin though, the inside of the shoe has some areas where it rubs (mine was in the heels of both shoes), but this should NOT be a deterrent to buy these shoes. They are AWESOME.

Those shooes are excellent for walking and hiking. Super comfortable to the point you'd rather not wear anything else. I didn't think they could (or should) be worn by a person with flat feet, but they work great. Because there is no heel, they aid with proper stretching of your calves during normal walking activities, which turned out a wonderful fringe benefit for an avid runner.

Pros:

1. Light weight (for wearing or packing)

2. Machine washable

3. Fast drying

4. Extremely comfortable

Cons:

1. Get smelly if worn in wet weather.\

This is my first pair of iZumi shoes. I am very glad I bought a half size larger, I think the VERY rounded toe bed is why they seem to run small. The tongue is attached and has elasticity, which I kind of liked. I could cinch it up snug but yet I had a bit of wiggle room. The bottoms make this shoe SUPER quiet, meaning...you could sneak up on somebody very easily:) I notice the little things so I immediately noticed I made little or no noise when walking on any surface! That quieter sole material in turn makes them super grippy. I would not wear these exercising on carpet, they grap too easily. There is ample cushion in the heel, not as much for the ball of the foot but enough that I won't put my inserts in yet. Very little arch support. My concern is that the softer bottom will wear faster? Won't know until I have them awhile. I am not a runner. I walk, weight resistance, and work on my feet. My all time favorites are the Saucony Nirvana 2's. These iZumi are heavier than those by far. I usually don't care what color I wear, just so they are comfortable and reasonably priced. I'm not sure if I will purchase another iZumi again yet. By the way, the color is more orange than red.
