I bought these shoes for its look at first, but surprisingly it turns out to be a really great athletic shoe. I usually use cross trainers because i play several sports besides running. I've now had these shoes for a few weeks and I've used these shoes to play court volleyball, outdoor/indoor basketball, longboard-skateboarding, working out at the gym, jogging, walking, and running.

Let's talk about a few things:

I usually use Nike Cross Training Shox Shoes because it absorbs my weight really well (I'm 6'0", 230lbs). But this does a great job with shock absorption also. I have high arches and wide feet, and this shoe fits comfortably for me. I went into a Footlocker to try on another pair of Zigmaze II shoes, and they fit the same.

Talking about attention, I get compliments EVERYWHERE. :) There are so many colors on this shoe and it pretty much matches anything you have on. I even wore it with my suit to my cousin's wedding. And all I got complimented on was for my shoes. So if you love the attention, these shoes are for you.

I do want to say that I don't like the laces. I'm used to athletic shoe laces which are thicker in nature, but this one is like a really thick string with plastic tightening clasp. It does keep my shoe on, and there is a lip that covers that plastic, but it's something i just need to get used to. I feel that one day that it'll start to slip, but I can't tell since I've only had it for a few weeks.

These shoes do not perform well on wet tile. I was jogging the other night and it was drizzling a little bit. And when i was passing a building that had tile on it, I almost slipped big time. Luckily I caught my balance, so that night I made sure to run on every single wet terrain on my way to the gym so that I know where I'd need to be careful. In conclusion, it did well on grass, sidewalk, textured cement, and asphalt.

Other than that, it is a great shoe and it's now become my favorite shoe. I'm kinda wishing I bought two pairs as these seem to not be available in any of the shoe stores I've visited.

Reluctantly took one start off for value. It's a very comfortable shoe with great support, but it is a bit pricey (even though Amazon had the best price I could find!). Laces are a cinch.... just pull up on both sides to tighten around the ankle and then press and drop the clasp down to hold; it's really quite easy. The extra bit of sole at the back of the shoe does scrape against the back of the stairs as I descend, but that's mainly because of my size 13 feet! Very happy with my purchase and will most likely by another pair eventually. Recommend that you check back as prices seem to frequently change for any given size/color combination.

Bought these shoes on a whim because I liked the look of them. Was amazed when I got them in the mail at how gorgeous they really are. The "laces" are a bit odd at first, but they are quite functional and help to tighten the shoes and keep them from falling off my feet. These are quite comfortable. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for awesome shoes.

I would not recommend these for running/jogging, but for looks they are great for the gym. Again, not the most comfortable.

Now, to be fair, this is first time I've ever really invested in trail running shoes other than Nike, Saucony & New Balance so there may be a better trail running shoe but let me tell you how I used them and how they held up.

I ran my first ever obstacle race last weekend (Spartan Sprint) in Malibu, CA. There were trail runs (uphill and downhill), wall climbing, crawling under barbed wire, running through waist deep water (and yes even swimming through an ice cold pond), fire jump, and other crazy obstacles. I bought these shoes a few days before the race and wore them twice before the big day.

The water resistant technology was awesome as one of the water crosses was right at the beginning of the race. By the time I got to the top of the trail my shoes were almost dry until I had to go through the water again. I liked the way the shoe pushed the water out and it didn't make my socks, shoes or feet squishy like regular running shoes would. These shoes are also mud resistant and good thing because there was a lot of mud that day. I didn't get any debris inside the shoes (I was also wearing wool sock), and I went through a lot of loose dirt, too and none of that got inside the shoe. No blisters, just total comfort.

I was so happy I bought these shoes. I didn't slide going downhill, and they gripped going uphill as well as when I had to scale walls (even greased up walls). I am thoroughly impressed.

When I got home from the race, my shoes were covered in mud and since you can't put them in the washer I just scrubbed them with a soft brush and clean water and they came out as good as new. I let them air dry and I took out the soles to let them air dry, too. I think for any trail running I do, especially obstacle course racing, I will stick with these. Pretty awesome shoe. I am female, and I own the size 7 in the black/teal color.

I love these shoes.

They are well made, have a very comfortable heel, plenty of room in the toe box, broke in quickly and conformed to my foot. I really like the lacing system and the toe cap. I tend to stub my toes near the end of trail runs, and this has saved me from several black toes.

I recently wore these in the Tough Mudder. I was one of the few people that wasn't slipping and sliding all over the place. Traction is terrific in almost any terrain, though they obviously aren't shoes for serious road work. The laces kept them on my feet in the worst of shoe-sucking mud pits. The clasp on the laces did get gunked up and made it difficult to remove the shoe, but worked just fine once the mud was rinsed out.

I do occasionally have some issues with rocks getting into the heel (running downhill on gravel is the worst), but all shoes would have that problem so I won't hold it against them.

They won't keep your foot from getting wet, but they dry very quickly and don't hold water in like some of my previous shoes. (I'm looking at you, Nike Shox.)

They cleaned up very easily. Just rinsed off the worst of the mud and gravel and threw them in the washer. Presto.

These won't be the greatest in the winter because they are too breathable.

They don't have a lot of arch support, but there is plenty of room to add if needed.

If you are looking for a great trail shoe, I'd highly recommend these. Definitely well-made and worth the money.

***UPDATE***

I've worn these shoes for over 50 miles of trail races and countless training miles. While I see a little wear on the lugs, they are still in nearly new condition. The laces and slider have held up well and the shoe itself still looks and feels great. Don't even think I'll need a new pair for racing season this year. Definitely have held up very well!!

Best Deals on Salomon Women's Speedcross 3 Trail Running Shoe

I have narrow feet and a high arch, so need a shoe that has good arch support, good cushioning and low volume but still roomy toe box that is not too stiff. I've been a Salomon fan and own several older model XA Comps/XA Comps GTX and took that on many trips (from hiking in the desert to trails in Hawaii). I now need replacement shoes since I've killed the old ones. For athletic shoes, I'm usually a 9. For all Salomon, I wear a 9, same for these (I also wear 9 in ASICS, but 9.5 in Nike, Brooks and Puma).

I tried on just about every major brand to look for some trail hikers/trail runners and they all fit too wide. I also tried the Salomon XA Mission, which got rave reviews, but the toebox fits extra wide. I also tried the Salomon Crossmax, which had a great arch but fit like a motion control shoe, so my gait felt very stiff and unnatural.

The Speedcross 3 purple looks great and the fit is perfect: strong arch support, well cushioned, hugs my narrow feet very well, low volume toebox but still plenty of room to wiggle toes. I also love the speedlaces, easy to use and works great.

The tread is very aggressive, which is great for mud and trail. But I will warn that walking on hard surface felt a little weird as I can feel the treads "wiggle" (compress, tweak side-to-side and rebound), it's a low "wiggle" so I don't feel unstable in any way. Not sure how the treads will wear on hard surface over time.

The shoe also feels very light for a water resistant shoe, it's not Gortex but Climashield. It's supposed to be breathable but I haven't tested the waterproofness yet, but will testing them soon on the trail. Highly recommend for grass, dirt, any soft surface, trail or muddy/wet conditions.

Honest reviews on Salomon Women's Speedcross 3 Trail Running Shoe

I first starting using salomon trail shoes about 4 yrs ago and although they fitted well and were comfortable I often choose other brands of shoes because I didnt always have that " ahhhhhhh feeling " when running in them

When I saw online the Speedcross 3 Trail Running Shoe and the high arch and wide soleI wondered what they would be like to run in.

I am asolutely IN LOVE with this shoe and intend on buying more of this style for my Ultra Running races and trail runningnot only is this shoe extremely comfotable the sole is a MUST for trails wide deep and you feel like your on heavy tread car tiresvery solid.

And yet the shoe is extremely light.

Im not talking about the colors because Im not a customer that particularly cares about the color because running through rivers muddy surfaces and sometimes wearing gaiterscolor is irrelevant but funnily enough i get comments by runners all the time when they see me in the fuscha pink color shoe.

So in a nutshell absolute great shoe for trail running welldone Solomon

To be fair, I have to start this review by saying I am NOT a competitive trail runner. I am a recreational hiker, and this occasionally takes me across some sketchy terrain where my Nike Frees were really not getting the job done, and actually have put me in danger more than once. But for the saving grace of prior gymnastics training, I would have busted my ass at least 3 times that I can think of thanks to the lack of grip.

It was the most recent near-ass-busting that sent me to REI to try on any and all trail runners they had. A friend of mine works at REI in Sacramento, and she had recommended NOT to get a true hiking shoe/boot, but a trail runner, since I prefer a more lightweight shoe. So I did a ton of research online and hit up the stores. REI did not have what I originally went in for, but I tried on several pair including 3 different Brooks and these Salomons. Right away these felt like they cradled my foot perfectly and gave good support and cushion. Most importantly, the tread on these suckers is FIERCE. I balked at the price at first ($125 @ REI, yikes), and tried on a few others there and elsewhere but I ended up going back for these (wish I had waited and gotten them at Amazon, looking @ the price).

I didn't realize til I got these home and started reading about them online that they are a competition shoe. So maybe I look like a tool out on the trails, I dunno...but they are worth it. The tread grip is unbelievable, and the sky is the limit as far as distance is concerned because they are so supportive and comfortable. They also work okay for flatwater kayaking (where you may encounter *some* water but are unlikely to get turned over) because they are waterproof...however, if you do more intense rapids or something where you are more likely to roll, I don't know how they would do. I would suspect they drain okay because they are supposed to, but I haven't tried it. I have taken them about mid-depth in streams, and they stay dry as a bone.

So from a hiking perspective, these are definitely recommended. Don't shy away from trail runners just because you aren't a "runner"!

Overall this is a great javelin shoe that really holds the ankle firmly and gives your block a nice solid feel. One problem is that the protective skin thing is not where it should be and as a result when I throw and my ankle is dragged the proper way it wears out, so I consider that a big mess up, but other than that its good.

(Oh and its kind of hard to put on and take off your feet, but once they are inside they are really comfortable and soft

Because I couldn't get any size smaller than a 6 "unisex" I'm glad these fit and did so perfectly. I'm a size 7.5 or 8 in US women's sizes and 38 or 39 in European sizes, so with the 6=38.5, I got a good fit. When I first put them on, I thought they'd be too small and narrow, but didn't feel like that at all when I started throwing and I would rather have them on the snug side anyway, rather than too big. The only thing I didn't like was they feel too cushioned. I run in minimalist shoes with no cushion at all and these have a rather thick footbed that you can't remove. That said, other javelin shoes I looked at seemed to have even more cushioning, so these were my best overall pick. Also you have to remember to constantly tighten the spikes lost several in the first meet and there are no extras that come with the shoes, so buy some of those too.

This is an excellent Javelin Boot. They are lightweight for speed down the runway and the sock inside provides a comfortable fit. Saucony makes great track spikes.

Wow! I LOVE these shoes! I am flat-footed, over-weight, and I over-pronate therefore most shoes and even going barefoot is painful for me. I am so looking forward to being motivated to get back into walking and eventually running again with the help of this great shoe!

Get them. Best running shoes yet. I tried on several running shoes in sneaker stores. The salespeople always try to sell me the Asics Kayanos (the most expensive Asics...but I feel uncomfortable the second I put Kayanos on) and stores don't all stock the Asics Evolution so I ordered it from amazon hoping I would love this model as I have loved my previous generations of the Asics Evolution. Its the best so far! The comfort of slippers and every part of my foot feels properly supported as opposed to other sneakers that feel like my foot only touches certain areas or overcorrects. I had chronic ankle soreness that I was learning to live with that disappeared within days of using my new evolutions.

Best Deals on ASICS Women's GEL-Evolution 6 Running Shoe

I would give this shoe higher marks except that the heels don't fit securely; even when I tie them as tight as I can everywhere else, the heel feels loose. Other than that though, the cushioning and support are great.

I love these shoes! I have plantar fascitis and I am a nurse on my feet for 12 hour shifts. I have no pain in my feet for my entire shift when I wear these shoes. I am not a runner, so I don't wear them as running shoes I just wear them to work. They are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn no back, hip, or foot pain ever! The grey color isn't too fancy or attractive, but it hides stains well.

These shoes have a very comfortable air cushion and are quite wide which I find increases stability. The price was much better online through amazon than in store. I also find the shoe is really helpful for me with my knees which are often sore after running, not so with these shoes. However I find the back of the shoe up near the heel crumples as I put it on (just one of the shoes) which I've never had happen with my running shoes so it's a bit of uneven workmanship. That said I will purchase this same pair once mine are done with.

My husband bought these shoes first and said they are the most comfortable shoes he's ever owned. So I bought them and completely agree! Great for walking and running!

Honest reviews on Reebok Women's RunTone Prime Running Shoe

I didn't buy these shoes for the "toning" claims. I knew that Reebok's "study" of their shoes toning abilities consisted of only 5 women on a treadmill. 5 women isn't a study. It's not even a Tupperware party. I bought them because I tried them on and they were insanely comfortable. My first run in them was fantastic, and I have to admit that it did seem as though my hamstrings and glutes were working harder. Unfortunately, after running in them for 2.5 weeks, I began to have intense pain in my calves and achilles. A quick Google search confirmed my suspicion that it could be the shoe. Then both my sports med doctor and the physical therapist I was referred to said they have lost count of the injuries they have seen from these and other toning shoes. I switched back to my tried and true Saucony's for running. I thought I could wear the Reebok's for errands, around the house, etc. After not wearing them for about a month, I put them on and had the same calf pain by the end of the afternoon. The two stars are because these shoes are very comfortable. Otherwise, knowing what I do now, I think Reebok needs to take the thousands of injury complaints more seriously. I suppose the class action injury lawsuit might help with that.

Product was received in a timely and neat manner (Asics always ships in a standard shoebox).

The colors are true to the images shown (if you were concerned about that), and these are indeed spikeless XC shoes.

Contrary to what others have said, I would buy the same shoe size that you normally wear for Asics, if you know that size. Racing flats are meant to fit tight, and complaints about blisters are likely the result of poor sock-wearing habits or simply bad running form for too many miles in a week. You don't train 24/7 in flats--you race in them. You also sacrifice some comfort for weight.

Overall, very satisfied. They seem to be very durable as well.

I really love the lightweight feel of these shoes. And the rubber spikes on the bottom make them a great (and cheaper) option for golf shoes. But I would advise you to get a half-size larger than you normally would. One other reviewer said the same thing, and I made the mistake of not following that advice. I ALWAYS wear a 11.5, but I had to return those for a 12 this time.

Other than that though, they are a great shoe for running, or in my case golfing.

I got these for my 14 year old daughter. She normally wears a 7.5 or 8, but we had to get a 8.5. I know that track spikes are supposed to fit snug, but if you don't have a super narrow foot, I strongly suggest ordering up at least one half size.

That being said, these track shoes look great on, and after looking in countless local sports stores, I was so glad to actually find a pair on Amazon. All of our local stores were basically sold out. Thanks for saving the day, Amazon!

This shoe is nice and light, although the materials look as though they will stand up to some wear. Spikes are removable even though that feature is not stated in the description. My last pair of shoes (before my stint running in Five Fingers) were some Pearl Izumi running shoes that I loved. They were decently lightweight, had some good cushioning, and had a great heel to toe transition that propelled me forward. I liked these shoes so much, it made buying a new pair of running shoes difficult when I realized the Pearl Izumi model was discontinued.

I tried on a few different types of shoes, all of them disappointing me. Then I tried the Puma Faas 550. They had a great fit (I wear 12s and 13s, and the 13 in this model fits me great). They are fairly lightweight, coming in at 10 ounces. I also love their heel to toe transition, though they don't have me rolling off my toes quite as easily as my Pearl Izumis.

I've put in over a month running about 2-4 times a week, and these shoes have been great. I don't really think about them much, and I feel that is the way a running shoe should be. Most recently I had run in Five Fingers for several months, and I started having some hip problems. After taking several months off but never really having the pain completely subside, I was worried to start running again. However, these shoes combined with the right hip exercises have so far kept the pain at bay.

These are branded as a more-cushioned minimalist shoe, but they don't feel minimal to me. They feel like a nice, lightweight pair of running shoes. I would definitely recommend them to others. Hope this was helpful. If you have any questions I can answer, feel free to leave me a comment!

I don't consider myself a professional runner by any means, but I can confidently say these are the best running shoes I've ever owned. I've tried tons of running shoes and I have to say this is the only 10 stars shoe for me. My plan was to use them in short runs, or just to wear around, but they are so light, so comfy, that I have worn them a lot. I have run half marathons with these shoes. Not for runners that really need support, nor for heavy runners. I am neither. I like the minimalist feel of these. The midsole is like no other shoes that I've had. Like pillows for my feet.

Little sceptical at first, but they really do let me run harder and longer. You can also feel the little extra "push" forward when you walk\run. Seems to be more noticeable when you are on harder surfaces (road or track would be best). I run mostly trail and gravel and have no issues unless the trail is extremely loose dirt or not very compacted as the zigs get sand\gravel in them, but it comes right out after a few paces. No size issues or foot pain, in fact they are working better than my old NB that I paid a lot more for.

Update 23 Jan 2012: I scored the highest ever score on my US Air Force physical fitness test ever... went from a 89% to a 94%... smoked the run. Training with these shoes helped push me harder and built my leg strength.

After owning a pair of Nike Shox, I figured that I would give the reeboks a try. I went to a store and tried them on first, because they do seem to run smaller, like the nike shox sneakers. I ordered the Zig Wild, Red and Gray, and they are fantastic. A little expensive, but they are really comfortable, and seem to be well made. You can actually feel the shoe pushing you forward as well, and It has a soft feel to it when running. I've had lots of NB shoes, so had confidence ordering these online. Whoever decided to call these "cross trainers" has not done any cross training! These offer no arch support and, strangely, no lateral support. The material across the top of the shoe feels like the same stuff used to make my son's little water shoes. I did end up keeping these because I walked outside in them and, frankly, they are not bad house slippers. Please don't order these thinking that you are going to do any type of exercising in them.

It's a comfortable shoe but not good for working out. It offers no support for jumping or lunges. The cushion is squishy but cannot handle impacts. The sides of the shoe are too thin and non-supportive.

It would be okay for non-impact motion such as an elyptical but not for a treadmill or walking long distance. Definitely not for jumping or any side-to-side motion.

This is the first time I have ever bought shoes online. I tried on a similar pair on in a store (NB 813), plus I always buy New Balance shoes in this size and width. They are VERY light, and almost feel like "Flubber," very bouncy. They are perfect if you have flat feet and inside arches would hurt you. I took out the insoles and put in full length orthotics. My only concern is that they don't seem to be narrow enough in the heel they pooch out. So if I tighten the laces like crazy, they're hard to put on, and they may look a little funny in the back. But they are more comfortable than the last NB shoes I bought in person (NB 621). I'm perfectly happy wearing them for the hour of my aerobics class, and that's all that matters.

I bought these last March. I am an amateur marathoner and a triathlete but as I'm off my marathon training schedule at the moment, I only do about 25k weekly. After almost 5 months of use, the shoes show hardly any sign of wear, they are very comfortable. It's enjoyable to wear them for speed exercises on the track as well as long road and even some light trail running. I used them once in an exercise combining swimming and a 5k fast run and they were perfectly comfortable worn on wet feet w/o socks (although I don't think they're actually designed for that). I'm looking forward to starting my training plan that peaks during the winter. I expect the shoes to sustain at least until I've completed it at the Jerusalem Marathon, March 2014.

I've used the Ride for some time and logged lots of miles in each years version. Has the upper changed? Seems like a narrower fit in this model.

Cushioning and feel is still very good but certainly "tighter". Can anyone confirm if they have changed anything?

This is the second time I have purchased these and I love them! I run about 25 to 30 miles per week and have almost 500 miles on my first pair (still going strong).

The shoe fits amazing well and so far I love it. Could not have been more happy with a neutral style shoe.

This is my 2nd pair of the Ride 5's. I chose them after comparing them to Brooks Ghost and a pair of NB (can't remember the model #). I've had some knee issues so I was looking for a softer heel and these felt a bit softer than the other 2 models...trying to get away from heel striking but these cushion the blow when I do.
