The colors are true to the images shown (if you were concerned about that), and these are indeed spikeless XC shoes.
Contrary to what others have said, I would buy the same shoe size that you normally wear for Asics, if you know that size. Racing flats are meant to fit tight, and complaints about blisters are likely the result of poor sock-wearing habits or simply bad running form for too many miles in a week. You don't train 24/7 in flats--you race in them. You also sacrifice some comfort for weight.
Overall, very satisfied. They seem to be very durable as well.

I really love the lightweight feel of these shoes. And the rubber spikes on the bottom make them a great (and cheaper) option for golf shoes. But I would advise you to get a half-size larger than you normally would. One other reviewer said the same thing, and I made the mistake of not following that advice. I ALWAYS wear a 11.5, but I had to return those for a 12 this time.Other than that though, they are a great shoe for running, or in my case golfing.

We were slightly afraid of ordering cross country running shoes online, but these were perfect! Fit as expected, light, great tread. Fortunately my son doesn't care if they are last season's model, he is just happy to have good fitting shoes :) Thanks!Honest reviews on ASICS Men's Hyper XCS Cross-Country Shoe
