This boot is warm and comfortable. It definitely runs a half size large. I treated mine with a waterproofing spray, so I cannot say whether or not they were waterproof to begin with, but they sure are now. Also, mud and slush just slide right off of them. I spent several days in Lake Placid with these boots in -16 degree weather and my feet remained warm, even when standing around watching a sporting event. I searched forever for a vegan boot that would stand up to the cold and the slush, and I found it in this Solomon product. The boots are fairly light weight and less clunky than others I have had, but I wouldn't call their profile "slim" by any means. It might be impossible to deliver enough warmth for very cold temperatures in a smaller, slimmer design. I wore these boots snowshoeing as well and they were so much better than my previous winter boot in terms of comfort and ease of use.

I just purchased these in advance for the winter season in Minnesota. It can be quite cold here and wanted something that I can wear that is warm, nice looking, and I can drive a stick shift with! I have a nice pair of boots, but the toes are too wide to push the clutch in and are clunky, but very warm. Doesn't help when I need to drive though. Began looking at boots well over 100.00 until I found a great deal on these! After reading reviews, I did buy one size smaller. I was extremely nervous about doing this, but I did. I got them last week, tried them on, and they fit perfectly! They still have room for a thicker pair of socks if needed. As far as how warm they are, I am unable to comment on it because it hasn't snowed just yet, but how these are made and what they are made with, I am sure they will be super warm! Worth the money so far, true test will be in about a month!
