I have a wide foot (4E) and a very high arch. I've used SOLE custom footbeds for many years in work boots and various brands of running and walking shoes. Off the shelf, these boots and shoes are foot-killers for me--even if the arch looks good in the store--but with the custom footbeds I can wear these footwear with comfort. It is like night and day. I still have some footbeds that I've worn for 3-4 years (I just transfer them from old to new shoes) and they are still going strong. I have no connection with this company, just a very satisfied customer.

I use Sole footbeds in most of my frequently-worn shoes; they provide great support. So, when I bought a new pair of bike shoes, I automatically replaced the standard insoles with a pair of Sole Thin Sport footbeds. I chose the Thin Sport model because the Sole website specifically identified this model as being appropriate for bike shoes. What a mistake! The ball-of-the-foot area has absolutely NO cushioning; it is a hard, thin surface. Even the standard insoles that were replaced had cushioning in this area. The lack of cushioning made the shoes very uncomfortable. I even gave them a chance on a long bike ride. What a disappointent! If your shoes don't feel comfortable with no insoles at all, then they won't be comfortable with the Thin Sport either. So, I replaced the Thin Sport with the Sole Ultra with thick cushioning. What a difference! Now my bike shoes feel good and have great support. My feet are happy and there is still enough room in the shoe. If your shoes are so tight that only the Thin Sport will work, then you need to get bigger shoes or thinner socks! I very much like Sole footbeds in general, but I can't think of any situation where the Thin Sport would be appropriate.

Initially found these at REI and they are vastly superior to the inserts I was using that I had purchased at the Walking Company. The surface of these does not wear out or change shape, they are strong and sturdy and provide great support. I've bought a few for keeping in different pairs of shoes.

I ordered these for my cycling shoes. Although my Louis Garneau shoes came with inserts, they weren't working for me. I found my feet uncomfortable and stuffed into the shoe. I ordered these on a friends recommendation. Love them. Even after the oven molding process, I have found the inserts continue to mold to my feet. They get better with every wear.

I love them so much I have them in my wife's running shoes, my running shoes and my work boots as well!

Pay attention to the specific models. The Thin Sport work great in my cycling shoes. The Ultra offer that extra padding and odor control that I needed for my boots. Lastly, the Signature DK Response give my feet the cushion it needs when running.

You can't go wrong with these.
