Now I trail run & teach all day in them, which brings me anxiety because I don't want them to EVER wear out. I bought two more pair of the road M3s for teaching and road running specifically. They are truly that good! That's 4 pairs of PI EMotion shoes, and I couldn't be happier.

I was a little apprehensive with all the marketing, etc on this one. In the past I have been using the Saucony Xodous as my go to trail shoe but for long runs it does not have the cushioning that I need for my legs. Enter the PI TM2....Great fit, the seamless construction is awesome. The overpronation control is good. I love the cushion on my longer trail runs. In addition, I find that I am ok on intermittent asphalt and track in between trails where the Xodous would usually tear me up...I would like Pearl to continue with this line and extend the M series to include a TM1 and TM3 for shorter and longer runs on trail.
I am a standard size 12 in just about all shoes but needed this in 12.5.
In summation, great shoe, great company, great product. I will be buying more of the emotion line in the future.

After much research, I purchased these M2 Trail Runners to use in the Tahoe, CA Fall Tough Mudder, which is generally known as one of the more brutal courses. The trick was, I bought these about 2 weeks prior to the event, meaning I had very little time to break them in. You can imagine my surprise when I took these out the first time and found that literally no breaking in was needed! Of course, this may not apply to everyone since we all have different feet, but these shoes fit perfectly (I selected the same size that I normally buy, no adjustments needed), are incredibly light weight, and have been extremely comfortable on every run. The soles are thick enough to handle sharp rocks, but not so thick that they add much to the weight of the shoe. Also, the soles seem to be designed as a good shoe for those trying to transition from running primarily on their heal to running more on the balls of their feet, which is something I've been working on.The big advantage of these shoes was how quickly they allowed water to be drained out of them. The mesh material means that they barely weighed down my feet during the swimming portions of the course, and allowed for only a brief "sloshy" period after being submerged in water. They don't dry as quickly as I would have liked, but the fact that most of the initial water is quickly directed out of the shoe is more important, in my opinion.
I can't speak to the longevity of this shoe, as I've only had it for a couple weeks, but if I shoe can survive a Tough Mudder and come out still looking good (albeit, a bit muddy!) that's impressive. I'll update this review if I find that the shoe breaks apart quickly, but I don't imagine that will be the case.
