I decided to give the barefoot/minimalist running trend a try. I researched alot of shoes and decided that I was not going to waste $100+ on shoes that might injure me or that I didn't like. I decided to ease myself into minimalist running and came across these gems. Not only were they half the price of the other shoes I looked at, they were cute and had soles thick enough to make the transition not so intense. I ordered a 6.5 big kids and they were perfect!!!! Not to mention cute. It took me about a week to get adjusted to them. I started off running an easy mile in them every other day. I just finished my first 5K in them with a personal best 28:30 :)
Now I'm ready to graduate to the Merrell's adult line, which I will also be purchasing through amazon. I'm keeping my Trail Gloves to wear casually because they are really comfy and oh so cute!!!!!!

Great shoes for my 4.5 year old boy. Good foot feel and traction which are both so important for children's feet. I like the fact that they have a slight arch for support but are not built up in the heal forcing him forward like a running shoe. Slightly expensive (that is why I purchase them through Amazon) but I will definitely purchase them again when he grows out of them. His growing feet are more important than my Lattes!

I got these shoes for my six year old daughter because she was getting shin splints at school during PE and running club with her regular shoes. I did some research and decided to try some of these barefoot style running shoes. At first she didn't like them because they aren't "stylish" but I made her wear them she got hooked. Now she wants to wear them all the time. We have a tight budget but we like to buy quality things, and I would buy these shoes again.

My son (age 4)loves his shoes. I love that he's wearing a barefoot shoe. The Merrells are so comfortable for him, with socks and without. They are easy for him to put on. After a 8 months of hard use, they are still in great shape. My only complaint is that they stink. The footbed needs improvement. I have washed these several times and they still stink.

We bought a big kid size 6 and it was so large it fit an adult size 8 foot. We returned it.
