I have been wearing hipthongs for years. I have warn through 3 pairs over the years. This last year they have changed the length of the strap that runs in between your toes that makes them too tight and they have changed the material of the webbing straps that cross your arch. Because of this newer webbing that is thicker, the straps now don't slide making it nonadjustable.

I now own three pairs of these in three different colors.

I was hesitant about something between my toes, but after a very short time, you hardly notice it. These are my 18th pair of Chacos. Third pair of Hipthongs, no, they do not wear out, I love to match my outfits to my shoes. They have become my every day "Live in, sandals. These are not going to be my last pair of Hipthongs, . I love these sandals. I have ridden my bike in them, hiked in them, kicked back in them. Where I go, these go, and they are capable of doing just about anything you point your feet at. I am a gal, and I can't wear the women's Chacos in this style as I have wide feed. Ladies, give these a shot if you have wide feet. A men's 7 regular is exactly the same the same size as a women's 8 wide in Chaco's. If you wear a 9 wide in women's, just buy the next size down in the men's. An so on. You get the idea. Contrary to many reports of these slipping off, I find it's all in how lose you keep the straps, not overly lose so that they flop, but snug to your foot, NOT tight. The adjustable strap is extremely comfortable, has a touch of stretch, and provides much more support than I thought possible. I am going to love this summer, thanks to Chaco.

I might add I have edema, swelling feet, and I can find very few shoes I can wear that don't hurt, because of the stretch staps on these they are very comfortable. They may not work for everyone with swelling feet, but they meet my needs. I recommend trying before buying if your feet swell.

I've had my Chaco Hipthong sandals for two years. I bought them because they are the most comfortable sandal period. They do run about a half size small. I wear them more than 75% of the time summer and about 40% through out the winter. My sandals have held up remarkably well. About a month ago i wore through the sole though. I'd say I've walked at least 500 miles in them. I wear them when i hike in southern Utah. I also own the Z2. I can't complain, they have been used and abused. Chaco puts out a great product. Last summer i stepped out of a boat and into knee deep mud. I lost my left sandal. I could not locate it save my life. I contacted Chaco and the sent me a replacement for $20 the next day. I was pretty pumped. I highly recommend them.

Do not like the elastic strap attached to the buckle, it stretches and then the sandal makes a flopping noise.

I was not aware I ordered the b/c width. Far too narrow and the seem short also. I have other Chacos that fit well. Not sure what's up with the sizing on these.
