Initially, I was worried about the fit, as most reviews say it is too narrow.

Upon arrival, I could feel that it was kind of squeezing my mid foot from both sides.

Used it on a short hike with a bit of caving just to force the issue, and now, it's perfect.

Grip is fantastic even on smooth wet rock.

When hiking, I prefer to "feel" the terrain with my feet. The soles on these are a bit too thick/and soft for that. As road to trail shoes, these are perfect.

Those with exceptionally wide feet may have to reconsider though.

This is my second pair of Salomons XR Mission Trail Shoes. I love the brand. This is my first time buying a pair with the Climashield. Works great in wet grass and soggy conditions. I wear them for an everyday shoe. However, they do run slightly hotter than the regular pair that has the breathable mesh. I prefer to deal with the extra warmth than soggy feet. Would recommend these to anyone.

love the lace system, super fast to tighten and loosen. great styling. a bit of an overly-large arch support bump, but that breaks in pretty quickly.
