I run a lot. I am currently stationed in Iraq, and I wanted a pair of shoes that were durable against the dust, mud, and gravel that one experiences here. I had heard a lot of hype about these shoes, so I figured "what the hell?" and ordered a pair. I usually run in either Aasics or Brooks, depending on what exactly I am running and I have never run in a pair of shoes worse than these. First of all, they are extremely heavy. Second, either by defect or design, the soles of my feet were canted inwards forcing my toes to point outward when I ran. After a very short 2 miler, I felt like my foot was broken. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, and was warming up for another run and did a few back and forth runs to try them out. I switched back to my chewed-up Brooks for that night and shelved these monstrosities until I could hit a bigger PX and find a pair of Aasics in 13. Im also out $95 for shoes that I doubt I will even wear in a casual setting. Maybe good for mowing the lawn when I get home.

I run an average of about 20 miles a week on pavement/trail mix. To save some money, I was looking for a shoe that will work on both surfaces. I go through about 4 pairs of shoes a year so durability was a huge factor. Did some research and decided to give these a try.
They run true to size (I'm a 10.5 D). I consider my feet wide but these D's felt snug without being uncomfortable.
I went with Structured Cushioning because I like a more responsive feel when I work out.
Cons:
Gray and red really aren't my colors.
I wish they came in all black or gray/blue.
It takes about a week to break them in.
Price: I still consider $95 too much but if they really do last 500 miles (claim on their site), then they are worth the extra bucks.
Pros:
They work well on road and trail surfaces.
Durability: so far (250 miles in) no signs of breaking down.
I liked them so much, I decided to purchase the neutral cushioning (other version of this shoe) as an everyday work shoe.

Easily the best running shoes I've owned. Heel counter is snug (that's a good thing), arch support is great for my close-to-flat feet. I've been ordering the SC model for about ten years now, never been disappointed.

I've had these for quite a while now and like them quite a bit. They hold up well to abuse, but parts of the shoe fall apart too soon. The soles have held up quite well to lots of use (I weigh over 200 lbs and they still provide cushioning after long use), but certain parts such as the the toe portion and some of the edge of the sole have begun to fall apart and separate. The rest of the shoe is incredibly sturdy. Mine came with replacement shoelaces, and I definitely preferred the replacement laces to the originals. People who run a lot may be annoyed at how thin the tread is; I run on trails as often as not so the tread hasn't worn as fast, rather I have lots of cosmetic tears from rocks and such. As a final comment, the overall design is very different from any shoe I've worn, and they definitely look odd. I would recommend not buying the black, grey and red design, as they aren't exactly pretty. The all-black ones look pretty sharp, though.

I'm piggy backing off of what the soldier said above. Ask any physical therapist or drill sergeant from 5-15 cav at ft. Benning Georgia about these shoes and you'll hear an ear full. A lot of kids were pressured into purchasing these running shoes during reception. Not because they were a good shoe, but because the lady who was fitting us for running shoes at the PX received commission for every sale of the pt 03's. They're a very hard trail shoe. With that being said, they SHOULD NOT BE PURCHASE FOR RUNNING ON PAVEMENT OR A TRACK. They are notorious for causing foot injuries, stress fractures in particular. I never thought this could happen with a shoe, but another recruit in my troop had a "blow out". the sole of his shoe literally collapsed and tore off during a pt test. Not to be worn in conjunction with standard issue boots either. Stick with a pair of asics. your feet will thank you
