This was my first pair of Adidas. I had worn Nikes all my life. But I remembered when I was a kid playing basketball, we'd all be wearing Converse Chuck Taylor's, but this one kid wore Adidas. They were quite expensive then; they were made in France and had that aura of something exotic and too costly for normal players. Then and there I began lusting after Adidas.
But I never did get a pair. Adidas seems to have fallen off as a premier basketball shoe company, and, of course, there was the ascendency of Nike.
So, when it was time to replace my Air Jordans and Air Pippens, both of which I really loved, I thought about that childhood incident and decided to try these Adidas. I was surprised at how inexpensive they were, but I was even more surprised at how good they were. The support, cushioning, and fit were perfect. I normally use an aftermarket insole, because I pound pretty hard, but these didn't need them. In fact, the fit is so perfect that another insole would make them too tight.
I was so impressed with these shoes that I immediately bought a pair of Adidas Liquid trainer running shoes. Now this shoe is perhaps the best running shoe I've ever own. I'll go so far as to say the best shoe period (in terms of comfort and performance). But this a review of the basketball shoes, isn't it.
Last week I bought a pair of Air Jordan 60 plus and was severely disappointed. The Adidas was clearly the superior shoe at half the price. That made me rethink my preference for Nike.I bought these for my son and he loves them!! He needed new Bball shoes and won't wear the old ones again!
