Really like the shoe, good material, good flex and looks great. The reason I'm giving a 3star is because the velcro on the 'lip' is only at the end and the other part of the velcro is to far down on the side of the shoe. So if your child wears thick socks it will not close or, like my son, if he has wide feet it will not work, and we ordered a Wide size, returned it and ordered an Extra Wide size and still wouldn't close:( We ended up ordering the NB 633 model for the third time because.velcro is.all over yhe lip so very adjustable. I'm hoping New Balance will make.the.change on the velcro because its a very nice shoe.

I do give Amazon a 5star for their great return policy.

These are a running style shoe that are cut very wide and compared to the Stride Rite sizing would rate as a XXW. The soles are also very flexible so a toddler with big feet can still walk/run without doing the frankenstein clomp. Stitching and build are good and appear to be well made. Most shoes I've found in this size are designed for the weight of a Little Kid and are a little too stiff for a toddler. My child put them on and gave an immediate smile after a short run. Child approved.

Same problems with the Velcro. Very disappointing since we've bought nothing but New Balance shoes for our toddler since he could walk. Guess they don't make them the same anymore.

I was very disappointed that these didn't fit...even in the extra wide size. They slid on my son's foot very well but the hook and loop closure wouldn't even reach the velcro.

For those of you who said the velcro strap doesn't stretch across the foot and secure to the otherside you are totally correct. The velcro wouldn't meet together at all. Zero overlap rendering the shoe completely useless. Unless your kid has really low feet and doesn't have an arch, these will not work.
