I have suffered for some time with a lingering bout of plantar fasciitis in my left foot, which I have tried several items for. Foot wraps did not work. Buying a good pair of athletic shoes didn't work. Exercises only worked marginally, unlike in the past. Complicating all of this, I have a very high instep for a woman, which makes it difficult to even find shoes that aren't too tight on top.

Then I saw these lovely insoles. I hesitated, given their price and the fact that they look pretty thick. Finally, though, having sharp pains in my foot with every step convinced me that $45 wasn't really THAT expensive, and I ordered them. I'm very happy that I took the chance with these beauties. I've only been wearing them a couple of days now, and I am noticing that my feet are less painful already, even when I'm not wearing them.

They are thick, don't get me wrong. But I was able to fit them into my athletic shoes after removing the insoles that came in the shoes. They have fine arch support, particularly in the metatarsal arch. I've never had such a good experience before with inserts for this oft-neglected arch. The metatarsal support in these is far more substantial than any I have seen before in one of these all-in-one style inserts (as opposed to having independent smaller pads which each only services one arch). The material used seems very appropriate to the area, and is squishy enough for comfort while still providing great support.

Thank you New Balance!

Prior to buying and trying these supports from Amazon, I bought and tried several others in this price range and, for me, these worked best in making my occasional, based on how far I walk (more than two miles), plantar fasciitis pain manageable in a variety of New Balance walking and running "sneaker" type "soft" shoes as well as other leather "more formal and less soft" types of walking shoes. For but one example, these supports turned a pair of New Balance 576 walking shoes from a pair I seldom wore to a pair I now wear more often.

The next step for me has been to buy, through Amazon, New Balance 927, 978 and 955 shoes that enable me to walk two miles per day with zero plantar fasciitis pain. I like the ultra arch supports but buying the proper shoes in the first place is a better idea for me. That said, these supports enable me to continue to wear other New Balance shoes that I would not otherwise be wearing on my walks, most of which are on pavement of some sort in medical complexes or college campuses.

Bottom line: I like these supports so much that just yesterday I ordered a second pair from amazon.

For the last 6 months I have been using these inserts for work as well as while hiking. I spend a lot of time throughout the day on my feet in work boot and, prior to buying these, my feet used to get tired and sore after a few hours of work. After buying these I have no problem spending upwards of 12 hours on my feet (sure my feet still get tired, just not as quickly) and they help out a great deal while slogging through the Southern Sierra's while carrying a heavy load. These inserts do take some time to get used to because of the 'bump' design that adds more support to the bottom of our foot than regular inefficient arch supports. If you spend a lot of time on your feet and/or have high arches, then these are the arch supports for you.

I have a neuroma in both feet. Had surgery on left and it has come back but not with the pain I had before the surgery. I do not want surgery on the right neuroma so I have been trying different orthotics and insoles for relief (and spending alot of money). I walk between 4 and 5 miles, 4 times a week on hard surface. I start feeling the pain in my right neuroma around the two mile mark. I just walk through the pain and then ice it when I get home. Since getting these insoles I have been able to walk longer before I feel the pain. There are times when there really isn't much pain to speak of. They haven't completely eliminated the pain that is why I only gave 4 stars, but I am very happy with the results so far. I also have Plantar faciitis in my right heel and these help with that also. My search for orthotics and/or insoles is over. I'm sticking with these. I also wear NB 927 shoes with the wide toe box which also helps.

I have spent several thousand dollars on doctors and inserts and shoes to provide relief for my Morton's neuroma since June 2011 to no avail. I was getting depressed I could no longer excercise as a result of the devastating effects of the neuroma. However, since finding these inserts with ultra cushion and high metatarsil support, I have relief! They have not cured my neuroma since nothing can do that, but they have made it managable so I can continue to excercise. What a God send...truly..they have been for me. I own multiple pairs to switch out so they don't become "stinky" from sweating at the gym, and I wash them occasionally in a front loader washer and let air dry (on very hot days) with great results. I highly recommend!
