My son bought these before heading off to college. He enjoys casual hiking and the look of these shoes which is sort of a combination of a running shoe and hiking boot. He'll have a 20 minute walk to most classes from his dorm and prefers these over running shoes. He did purchase new laces that were more subdued as the ones that come with the shoes are bright red. He bought hiking laces that are gray and black and they look great.
