... But I ended up liking that color even more. I ordered the Smoke color, which was supposed to be purple and pink on a grey shoe. I received shoes labeled Smoke but they were a lighter grey with purple and yellow accents. Oddly enough, I ended up liking these better.

Otherwise, this is a great shoe. I am a true 7.5 but usually wear an 8 in hiking shoes to make room for socks and feet swelling. Heading others' warning, I went ahead and bought a 7.5. It was a good move. These Merrells run a little longer and wider than most of their brand. Excellent heel stability, cushioning and arch support while remaining so lightweight! I bought them specifically for hiking but their retro style is so cute I may even wear them out in town. By far, the cutest hiking shoes I've ever seen while still living up to Merrell's reputation.

seems like they purposely sent wrong item in hopes that i would keep it. otherwise shoe felt true to size (running shoe size), felt comfortable and flexible, had little arch support. can't say much more since i sent them back since it wasn't what i ordered. i need to check my credit card statement to see if i was refunded--if so-then customer service was great and i was able to take care of thru chat...
