These shoes look great and feel very light. I normally wear an 8 1/2 but ordered these in a 9 and they are still on the small side for me!! Definitely recommend going up a size, esp. if you like to wear thicker socks when you hike.

These shoes run very small. I have a pair of Merrell's size 6.5 that I have worn comfortably for many years. So that is the size I ordered in these shoes. However, they were too small and tight in the toes and had to be returned. It may be the tapered toe style that makes the difference. They do appear very well made as with all Merrell shoes in my experience and are very light weight. I recommend ordering up at least 1/2 size.

I have a pair of Avian Light stretch shoes, and I was looking for a lace up version...since I love the stretch shoes. I found that the lace up style to be too tight through the distal half of my foot. I really wanted these shoes to fit, since they are an awesome style, but I had to return them.
