I run about an average of 20 miles a week but just started training for my next marathon and am in the market for a couple of pairs of shoes to rotate throughout training. I was interested in going back to more of a minimalist shoe (have run in the Saucony Kinvara for couple of years then went back to a more traditional Asics/Brooks). I saw the commercial for these, read the reviews and decided to try. Also, wanted to let others know that I am not a petite runner so I am very particular about support. I am impressed with this shoe. You will immediately notice a difference with this shoe. I did not need to add my arch support inserts because this shoe supported my arch. I started running in this shoe with 4 or 5 mile runs but had no issue transitioning and ended up doing my long run in these by week 2. I think they are a bit odd to walk in but they feel good to run in. I wear a size 8 1/2 or 9 in regular shoes (depending on width). I bought a size 10 and actually think I could have gone with a 9 1/2. The people that said these shoes run small might be buying their running shoes too small. I always go up at least a size if not a size and a half. My issues is always width (not wide enough) and the way these shoes are shaped the width is not an issue.
Last comment these shoes do look different. The toe box is big and round and the zero drop is different than other shoes. If you are someone that buys shoes for look or style this is not the shoe for you. The first thing my husband said was "those look weird". I have friends that I don't think would wear these for that reason. :-)

These are the most comfortable running shoe I have ever purchased. I have always purchased Asics and will continue to do so for walking shoes. I have noticed wear already on the soles, so I am not sure how long they will last. But......well worth the money. I run easier, faster and in better form with these shoes.

From my mother: Size seems to be consistent with other athletic shoes. More room in the toes, which is such a surprise and relief! It is easier to run without the thick soles most running shoes have. Usually I break in new shoes by alternating them with my old shoes. These felt so good the first time I wore them that I quit alternating and switched to these right away. I'm 78 years old, still running 3 miles a day, and these are the best shoes I've ever worn. Thank you!
Honest reviews on Altra Women's The Intuition 1.5 Running Shoe
I normally wear a size 8 shoe, but since I read the reviews about them running small, I bought a full size larger and they fit perfect!
Love them.

I've been running in VFF KMD Sport LS's for the past two years and absolutely love them, but my feet hurt when I run on pavement. Since there aren't a lot of non-paved areas to run on where I live, I started looking for a shoe that would provide more cushion and had a zero heel drop. After some research, I thought the Altra Intuition was what I wanted. I was wrong. I normally wear a 6.5 wide, and despite what others have said about the shoes running small, I went ahead and ordered 6.5s, only to find that my big toes rubbed against the end of the shoe. I exchanged it for a size 7 and even though my little toes felt a kind of smashed and my feet were clearly wider than the soles of the shoes, I really wanted to love these shoes to the point of considering "just dealing with it". The color choices, style, and comfort (despite not being wide enough) seem like this would be a really great shoe for someone without wide feet, but until Altra comes out with a wide width option, I won't be buying their shoes.
