I've been running anywhere from 20-40+ miles per week on a mix of road and trail for the past year, suffering from IT-band syndrome, plantar fascitis, and tendonitis intermittently along the way. Ice and stretching were always helpful, but my right knee continued to be creaky. After reading Born to Run and grinding through my third pair of very comfortable and very cushioned Asics in less than 9 months, I decided to give the whole 'less is more' thing a try. I'd done my research about how to slowly and carefully ease into training properly with a minimalist shoe and fully intended to stick to that plan until my first 1 mile "test run" in these shoes turned into a 6 miler. I've worn these shoes for over 50 miles in the past three weeks and haven't looked back. It does take some concentration to make sure my running form is correct, but aside from slight heel tenderness (which may very well be from kickboxing) I have no other physical complaints and my knee doesn't make that awful creaky sound whenever I stretch. They are extremely comfortable (due to the cold weather, I've been wearing them with socks) not just for running, but for wearing the whole day. I never thought I'd be someone who could use minimalist shoes but now I can't believe all the time I wasted not having them. These shoes are truly live changing!Cheap New Balance Women's WT1010 Minimus Trail Shoe

Whenever I hiked over 8 miles, my heels would ache badly the next 3 days. I found out I had Plantar Fasciitis and could heal it by changing my shoe style and by focusing on the way my foot strikes the ground. Amazing the research that has been done in this area for both runners and hikers. New Balance Women's WT1010 Minimus Trail Shoes support the idea that more foot movement and less heel padding along with less arch support keep your feet in better shape and lessen leg and knee injuries for some people. In other words, minimal support (thus the Minimus) is actually BETTER for your feet in the long run. I bought these with this research in mind and have been hiking with these shoes for over two weeks. I bought a half size bigger because I like to wear wool socks, even here in the desert (never had a blister ever with wool). These shoes are soooooo comfortable and fit like a glove. The toe box is wide and roomy to exercise your pinkies while hiking. The tread is perfect for the rocky, sandy trails here, in and around Phoenix. The Vibram sole is so lightweight and flexible, I feel like a little kid running out in the wilderness. My plantar muscles are being exercised whenever I hike in these shoes, so my heel problems have disappeared. Would highly recommend these shoes for anyone who loves to hike or trail run.
