I ordered these for my husband because of the Goretex lining, The Goretex is great and the shoes are really waterproof. But the toebed seems to be narrower than all other Asics shoes that he has worn (he has been wearing only Asics for years) and this shoe caused toe pain after wearing them on long walks. This is very uncharacteristic of the usually comfortable Asics sports shoes. Unfortunately will have to return these after wearing them for a few weeks.

This is my second pair. I got them for trail running/hiking. I then started road running and they are equally as good. I went right from a trail run to running home (total 5.75 miles) with zero feet or shoe issue.

The only reason these are not a "5 star" shoe is because over time they slowly let in water if walking/running through wet grass. I spray them with fabric waterproofing sealer ok for gore material, and that helps a lot.

I had a pair of 2160's and would say this last fits a bit tighter but sizing from previous ASICS products gives you a decent fit.

Asics running shoes are the ones I most often choose. I have a narrow foot---A width. This shoe works well for me. I am 6ft. 180lbs. The balls of my feet are pretty sensitive and this shoe won out over the feel of some other major brands. I cannot speak to long term wear since I just got these shoes. They feel great right off the bat. I made this selection by going to a specialty running store with salespeople that run marathons. They really know there stuff and always guide me to a good choice among several options. I am just a fitness runner but good shoes always made a difference.

I had a previous version of these shows, the 2150 I think, I wore them forever and loved them but they were always a bit snug in the toe bed, my pinky toe ended up rubbing holes in the side otherwise I'd still be wearing the.

So I went up a size for these replacements expecting them to fit better, not so. They are tighter and even more narrow in the toe bed. I expect holes in these in the same place but even sooner. They are tight enough that there isn't enough lace to tie them.

Finally, they goretex makes these extremely hot (and slightly noisy even walking down a quiet hallway).

Ultimately, I regret wearing these so I can't return them.
