I have been running for the past two years in Inov-8 f-lite 195s and 230s and really like both of these shoes, especially for my trail runs. However, as I increased my run distances (anything beyond 8 miles) and especially with more time on hard paved surfaces, I found that the Inov-8 road-x 233 were more forgiving on my knees and allowed me to run a bit further with less damage to my body. These shoes are still wonderfully light and airy, but with slightly more cushioning and support than the f-lite trail runners. I'm sure there are a lot of other shoes that would have performed similarly for me, but given my positive experience with the f-lite series I thought I would stick with the Inov-8 brand and go with the road x-233s-happy with the decision and definitely recommend this product. I will also note that I did initially purchase my usual size of UK 7, but as I increased my run distances found that a UK 7.5 allowed for my toes to take less damage.I'm currently transitioning into a more minimal drop shoe. I started in the Inov-8 238 which has a 9mm heel drop. The 233 has a 6mm drop and is lovely! 10 miles total in them yesterday and only mild calf tightness afterwards and this morning my legs are peachy. Glad I ordered 2 pair because I love the feel/fit and will be using these through marathon training and the marathon itself in November. Then I will be scouting out the next size down, 3mm drop. I love Inov-8 shoes!!!
