I'm a "walk hard" kind of guy. I don't know why, but I think I step improperly or put my weight in the wrong area(s)...regardless, when I walk, I land harder than I believe most people walk. And because of this, gel pads/cushions/etc. are needed in every pair of shoes I wear nowadays.

Now, I've done the Dr. Scholl's and similar inserts thing before...but they all wore out quickly, and I still didn't feel like I had great support. Sometimes my heel would just kill from the pressure and weight put on it (I'm not a 'big' guy either).

After seeing these in the back of magazines and wanting something comfortable for work, I decided to take the risk....and wow the support feeling is IMMEDIATELY noticeable. The coolest thing is the way you'll almost feel like you're "propped up" a bit at first...but man...that seems to make the pain go away. And on the oddball days where for whatever reason you're walking harder than normal, you'll audibly hear air being expelled via the pressure hole in the sole area. It's amazing how these things work.

Since buying this pair I've ordered two more, and plan to buy a nice pair of dress shoes and a pair of sandals ('Joshua' style, probably) at some point. Wearing older/non GD shoes feels extremely weird now and the difference is night and day.

Seriously folks these things are amazing.

Honest reviews on Gravity Defyer Men's Galaxy ll Athletic Shoe

I only take the time to write a customer review on a product when it is exceptionally good or exceptionally poor to help potential buyers in making their decisions. I bought a pair of Gravity Defyer Men's Galaxy II shoes in April 2013, wore them roughly 15 times on paved walking trails and experienced severe wear to the point of making the shoes worthless to me for further use. At first the shock system was comfortable, especially walking down hills, reducing joint stress over long walks. They are heavy and the ankle support is poor but I thought the shock resistance was a nice benefit so I decided to hang on to the shoes beyond the 30-day guarantee period. Today (July 29, 2013) I walked for roughly 1/2 mile and felt blisters develop on both feet in the area just above the heal so I took the shoes off and noticed there were worn holes in both shoes in that area. After further inspection, I also notice the area on the outside of the shoe where the pinky toe rubs is wearing so a new hole will be developing there as well but with this one on the outside of the shoe.

I will never wear these shoes again after only three months of very light usage because the wearing on the inside of the shoes cause blisters, not to mention the wearing will only expand since the cushioning fabric pulls out on all sides once a hole develops. The shoes feel great at first but the long-term craftsmanship is not up to par with name brand shoes. I've had Nike, New Balance, and Asics that have lasted over a year with hard running use before holes developed on the inside of the shoe so this is definitely a fatal flaw for me on this particular brand. I would not recommend these shoes to anyone based on my experience.

The shoe fits just fine. Maybe a little heavier than what I normally wear, but we are talking by an ounce or two. The real issue I have with the shoe is that there seems to be a design or manufacturing flaw with the top eyelets. Maybe after a couple weeks of wear, I went to tie my shoes and an eyelet broke on one side. I figured I was being to tough and aggressive tying my shoes. I was more careful after than, but in a week, an eyelet on the other side broke. Now I can wear the shoes without the top eyelets, but the shoes are a little loose. I think the Gravity Defyer folks need to relook the material being used and make some modifications.
