they undid what they did right in the pure connect... They made this shoe more " marketable...(to people who are not looking for this shoe)... they raised the heal cup (for heal strikers) the made the soul thicker (feel like I am on stilts) in the original you felt like you were in a supportive glove... I am grabbing up some of the originals while I still can.. best that can be said is that now the originals are 2/3 the price they were! Brooks made a great shoe that I have been in love with for 5 months (got great pro reviews) and then they go and mess it up... (trying to appeal to and heal strikering joe sixpack (not abs) with flat feet... in addition to messing up the fit and performance they added weight... thicker foot-bed elevates foot in addition to losing all feel for the ground.

This shoe has good improvements but somehow they made it smaller. I use to wear 7 on the pure connect 1 and it was perfect. Pure connect 2 is just a bit shorter, which has caused me trouble on downhills :S...

While I may not know about the Pureconnect 1, I felt that this was a great shoe. I'd never worn shoes this minimal, but actually feeling the road was glorious, and I didn't need to break them in, as my first run was an easy 10 miles and I wasn't sore the next day. Word of warning thoughif you're used to bulky trainers your feet will be exhausted after running in these. I'm a little worried about the topsole on the inside ball of my foot, but it has held up pretty well as of now. Over all, I'd totally recommend them!

shoe fits exactly as was described and love the asymmetrical last. truly a min. w some cushion. subsequent runs had better splits.

I've been running 8 10 miles daily ever since I was 15.

It's been a year since I transitioned to minimal running. Brooks pureConnect2 are the best shoes I've ever owned. I love them! I've loved them since the very first step out the door.

They are not for everyone thou... but if you are a lean & mean running machine, then you'll find they suit you perfectly.
