I have four pairs of FiveFingers and this is my heaviest. I bought them for a hiking trip that I am going on soon.

Because of the way the neck of the shoe is made, they are quite a bit harder to get on than other models but once they are on, they feel great! Very secure, a bit more protection from a twisted ankle and a heavier feel under the foot while maintaining good ground feel.

My only complaint, and I can't imagine how to fix this, is that they get sweaty because they are waterproof. So, I wear these with socks... I would definitely get them a size larger to accomodate Injinji socks. And if sweaty feet bother you, these probably are NOT for you.

PS-I still miss the Kangaroo Leather KSOs and hope they will bring them back. The hiking sole wore out before the leather did!

toasty warm, nice padding...but probably should have bought a size larger. My third pair of vibrams...the other two fit alike...these are stiffer due to the lining and feel to snug. Will be fine for short runs.

I have a few pairs of the Vibram shoes, including the Bikilas and the Jayas, but it is difficult for me to wear these styles in the cold weather, which is why I love the Lontra Trail Runner. It offers everything those of us who love vibram shoes and the barefoot technology offers, but it also provides stronger construction, a thicker sole, and higher height (up to ankles). When worn barefoot, you're feet will be warm, and for those extra cold days, I added the iniji socks.
