These are still the best trail running shoes available for my kids in junior high school cross country. However, they are not as good as the previous model. The toe box on the original is roomier for splaying their toes and the upper on this model is much stiffer than the original which inhibits some of the flexibility. Also, the original had a nicely padded heel counter and softer upper materials for greater comfort. All that aside, my kids still love these shoes and the colors available. Hopefully v3 will return to softer, more flexible upper materials.

We are very happy with these shoes, as we were looking for minimalist runners for my son. Initially he thought they seemed a bit tight, but after running in them for a month, he reports they feel great! They are VERY light weight, which likely helps for distance running. So far, they have held up just fine. We are very happy with the minimal sole, and the wide toe box, particularly giving room for his smallest two toes. The next test will be using them for volleyball for the next month or so. Great product, highly recommended!

Nice, sleek sneakers. The minimal style is great for kids that feel like most sneakers are too bulky or heavy. My son loves them and he has a complaint about practically every pair he's owned. He also tends to be clumsy and these really work for him to feel more grounded. A couple things to consider before buying -Though great for running, they are supposed to mimic barefoot running so they lack the extra padding or support that he/she may be used to. Also, the thin fabric will wear down faster than that of other sneakers so think about what kind of daily "abuse" your kid will put them through. I only gave them four stars because I did notice that the stitching on some parts was starting to unravel a bit. The sneakers aren't falling apart, however, I feel that this is something the manufacturers should pay better attention to.
