Cheap NEW BALANCE Men's MX 506

I bought a pair today on sale at jcpenney for $36. Fit seems ok won't know more until they are worn for awhile. I have bought new balance for the last 10 years due to wider widths being available and have always had a good experience with fit, comfort and wear, Never paid this little for a pair but my budget is limited at the moment so I'm trying a less expensive pair.

I've had several pairs of MX505 and MX506 over the past several years. They were great shoes, and every comfortable. I always buy the same size 10.5 4E. But the toe box section of this shoe has changed. It seems to me it is more pointed than round or else the length of the shoe has changed--I'm not exactly sure. I bought this shoe in a grey/blue color in April/2011, and it had the same problem that this shoe has in that it is too crammed in the toe box area. I walked about 5 miles/day on this shoe. At first I thought the shoe just needed to be broke in, but after a while I realized NB had changed the fit of this shoe. After 6 weeks they actually broke the toenail on my right big toe right in half. I got callouses on top of all my toes on the right foot. I guess I will have them for the rest of my life now.

I'd guess the chinese made this change without even telling NB here in America about it. I went through this when I used to wear Converse/Chuck Taylor's all my life. When Converse sent the shoes to me made in China, the heal was narrowed, and the shoe rubbed the back of my foot raw. I had to stop using the Converse and I eventually wound up with NB. Now, I will have to start looking for a different shoe again. The one in the picture (white/back/red) is no different than the grey/blue ones I bought in April/2011 at Fred Meyer in Seattle. The white/red/black ones I bought on Amazon, but NB has not corrected the problem.

I own these in the women's version and my husband wanted a pair in men's since I love mine so much. Due to a comment on here, we were able to get them for $36 at JCPenneys, so we got a great deal. Such a great deal I also bought a pair of the men's version! I have tried them on and although I have not worn them, they feel just like the women's version that I wear everyday, so I think they will be great! I will update my comment, if they don't turn out so well, but for the price and the same feel as the ones I wear all the time, I am very happy!

Honest reviews on NEW BALANCE Men's MX 506

I bought these shoes for my husband since he's owned several pairs of New Balance tennis shoes and they've always been comfortable. However, this pair is not. He's worn them several times and said the heel portion is very painful. He's hoping they'll be more comfortable after they're worn in a bit but I would think tennis shoes would be comfortable from the start.
