The first race I used these was a hot 70.3. They felt great the whole way through the run leg. I used thin socks but I think they'd also be fine without.

My single complaint about these shoes is the design. The tab that sticks up in the back of the shoe gave me blisters on my achilles tendon. How do people wear these over long distances? Also the heel rode up and down in the back no matter how tightly I cranked down on the "Yankz" laces. The good news is that they are extremely light weight. The just didn't work for me.
