I started my running with some cheap Dick's brand and then went to a running store and was fitted with the Avia Rythm, which I liked. Those were discontinued and my feet were not happy with it's Avia replacement but then Avia saw the light and came up with these, which are very close to the Rythm and my feet are happy again.

Review of pediped Flex Venus Sneaker (Toddler/Little Kid)

Returned these immediately. Shame on Pediped for making their new line of girl sneakers huge clogs. I always bought Pedipeds for my kids, and was looking for a bigger pair of sneakers for my daughter. Instead of a nice thin flexible sole we're used to from Pediped, these have thick solid wide sole that you see on cheap kid sneakers that are terrible for little feet. What happened??? Yes, they are still light and machine washable, but my daughter would be tripping over her own feet in these. I tracked down a pair of her last year's Pediped sneakers (Leo sneaker), and paid quite a bit more for them, just to get the "old" Pediped quality. Off to find a new brand of kid shoes...

These are really cute little sneakers, easy to put on by herself (3.5 years old), sturdy, and comfortable. Very soft inside; Daughter can wear them without socks on warmer days. She actually wears a 23.5/24 right now, but I ordered a 25 because pediped, those brilliant shoe designers, send you an extra insole to place use (yes, you double-up) which makes the shoe a half-size smaller. As she grows, I can remove it; just be sure to remove the insoles prior to machine washing (yes!!!!) the sneaks, or the insoles might not survive; These I toss in a lingerie bag or hand wash. Even with the insole, the shoe is a little big, but again, those brilliant designers created a Velcro closure with some extra room to pull the shoe tight. I'm happy, she's happy. I will always buy my kids pediped, and when shoe shopping, look for their styles first. I compare the quality, price and styles to Primigi and Naturino, and the quality to Stride Rite. But none of those have the extra insole to grow with my daughter and to last as long as pediped. My daughter has a twin brother, and we primarily buy pediped for him as well.

I got these for my 4 year old who is very active, but takes shoes off AS SOON as she gets in the house, and really tries to do that in any indoor place. I have been buying cheap shoes, because let's face it, kids destroy and grow out of shoes quickly. I found these for a decent price here on Amazon, and decided to take a chance. They are very cute, and she loves them. She wears them for hours at a time (!), and wants them on every day no matter what she is wearing. The quality is good, she can put them on herself (the tongue is attached in such a way that it doesn't slip down, so it's really easy for her), and I really love the little insole that makes it so you can buy a bigger size and have these last thru two sizes instead of just one. They are also machine washable, so they should actually stay looking good that long. My daughter doesn't slip or trip over the toes; the shoe moves with her really well. I will buy this brand again for sure(though probably not at full price, thank you Amazon). Can't speak for durability yet because we have only had them about 2 weeks...but they still look new in spite of daily playground use.

I had been looking at a few different options for some new running shoes. I was drawn to the Under Armour brand and had heard some good things. I bought these back in July 2013 and by September 2013 I had to get a completely new pair of shoes. I really gave these shoes a chance, I knew they were new and needed to be broken in a bit. Even after giving these shoes a few weeks to be broken in they were awful!! Here's why:

1. The left shoe for whatever reason was very heavy on my foot (I sounded like Frankenstein when I walked in them) and my friend confrimed this while we were walking to the gym. I have never experienced anything like it.

2. Way too tight! I ordered the right size and had even gone to a store to try them on first, before ordering. The ones in the store felt ok, but not the ones I ordered here.

3. The final straw was when I went for a short walk with my b/f and dog, about three miles. Both feet got shredded!!! This was after all those weeks of breaking them in. The back part of the shoe comes up so high it pretty much rubbed my achilles area raw. I was bleeding terribly after the walk (like literally blood pouring down from the area on both legs), the wound was so bad I couldn't go to the gym for at least three weeks because it hurt so bad.

I went out and just bought a completely different brand and made sure the back part didn't come up so high (and that the left foot didn't weigh down either). I don't know if that design serves a purpose, but it seemed unnecessary to me, it certainly didn't seem to give more support or anything.

Overall I am angry! I can't believe I had to pay this much for a pair of shoes so they could injure me and then have to go out and buy a whole new pair within like a month and a half.

Like the title says DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the colors, the shoe is really bright. I gave them a 4/5 because even after trying to break them in, the back of the shoe is really hard so it rubs unless you wear taller socks.

Cute running shoes (I purchased the black and green ones with pink laces), offer pretty good support for my feet (I've heard others buy better insoles for the shoes), and is breathable. Runs a little narrow width-wise, but the length is true to size. The worst part about these shoes is that the back of the heel is pretty high, and I was getting blisters on the back of ankles after walking in them for an hour. They definitely take some patience to break into.

I suffer from bad knees, at least i thought i did until these shoes. My problem i was running around in a pair of Adidas Climacool and they had nowhere near the support i need, so i did the research and decided on these, i have the crimson ones and they are excellent, put about 20 miles on them so far, been out 4 times with them and i have no more knee pain. i'm a big guy 220lbs 6,2, I'm losing weight fast and these are perfect for my weight and knees, they will only get better, even when I'm at my goal weight of 180lbs. I am a larger guy 6'4" around 280. I have been trying to get back into shape and I use to love running. However now that I have gotten a little older it wasn't so easy. I quickly started to suffer from pain below the knee "Jumpers Knee" and also would get a pretty good case of shin splints every now and then. I was doing everything before and after the run I could to try and prevent it but nothing helped. Then I started to research shoes for larger runners and found these. They have changed my life. I have put around 30 miles on them so far and haven't looked back since. I use to suffer after only a couple miles, I ran a 10K the other day and though I was sore afterwords it felt closer to the soreness I remember feeling as a kid after a long run, my muscles were simply tired. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to save the knees and enjoy running again.

To be honest, I have only written a few reviews for products on other sites before. This is my first Amazon review (or at least the only one I can remember writing). I'm a pretty overweight guy trying to get into shape, so I did a little research on shoes for bigger guys. I had been wearing Nike Free Run 2's and while they were working out nicely, I wanted a little more comfort with my run. Being heavy sucks lol. So, like I said, did some research and come to find out there are shoes that really help with weight distribution, I also overpronate and let me just say that these shoes help so much it's crazy. Normally I need to take breaks in-between running days but since I got these, my legs don't need a days rest like normal. I can run just as far the day after a run as I could the day before.

I am a beginner to intermediate runner. I've been having pains in my left shin. My shoes were quite old and probably had in excess of 500 miles on them. So I decided to try to up the bar a bit and invest in a much nicer pair of running shoes than my old pair.

I went to runnersworld.com and checked out their shoe advisor. This was the first pair of shoes recommended. The description fit me pretty well. Amazon had a decent price, so I gave them a shot.

I ordered my exact size that I use for every other shoe/boot/sandal that I've purchased since I was 16. I've read and been told sometimes it's good to order a size up, which never seemed to make sense to me. So I got my size and right out of the box they fit just right.

5k is typically my maximum distance that I run. On my first run, I decided to "break them in" and have a nice, easy, short run to give them a try. I ended up running 5k at my typical pace before I started feeling the pains. I had no pain in my legs the entire run except for what you'd expect from muscle fatigue. I normally don't run back to back 5ks, but ended up running another 5k the next day because the shoes felt so good.

I will remain skeptical like I always am, but so far, this has been an absolutely awesome investment.

I normally run 20 miles a week on a mixed hard surface and dirt roads. I needed shoes that provided good support and proper cushioning. Among all the brands I have tested over the years, I give Mizuno shoes the best rating as they execl on all fronts. I used to suffer from shin splits and pain in the achilles heel prior to using Mizuno. However, after switching to Mizuno's, my pains have disappeared and, as a result, I am able to run almost 10% faster than my earlier speeds. I give these shoes 5 stars and I am on my 6th pair with these shoes.

The shoe fit and finish is of high quality. It also fits well and is true to size. It feels like a stability shoe to me. I've had this shoe for over two months. The gore tex is not hot at all. I use this shoe for work, since it is a jeans/sneakers type of office setting. I believe I could stretch this shoe to wear with khakis. If I had one shoe, this would be it. It would be a perfect travel shoe. You can run with it, go to church with it, work out in the gym with it, hike with it(day and multi-day and trail run with it and can play golf with it due to the lugs on the bottom. The fact the it has gore tex,it will keep your feet dry in a rain or in crossing a shallow stream. All you would need is some flip/flops or sandals to pair this for your traveling shoe.

I love these shoes. No break in required, they fit snug but not too tight to cause discomfort. They are warm and breathe at the same time. They provide great support, I spent two days walking and tubeing around London with zero foot, knee or back pain. During that trip, I stepped in a deep puddle near Oxford Circus and my foot stayed completely dry. All in all great shoes, unlike other brands I've worn, they are worth the cost.

Shoe fit to correct size and seems well constructed. It has kept my feet nice and dry in the snow and rain so far this winter. It is bulkier than your standard running shoe and obviously more purposed for hiking.

My feet tend to get warm wearing this shoe indoors, so it is not something I would wear to the office on casual days. If you're looking for something to keep your feet dry during outdoor activities, this works perfectly.

I am currently on my second pair of these shoes and by the time we end our upcoming travels, will be purchasing a third pair, since I am wearing them all the time. Took me about two to three years of almost constant wear (under rough conditions) to wear them out, definitely got my money's worth out of them.

I have worn these shoes in a variety of travel situations and they have performed extremely well. This was my only pair of shoes on a backpacking trip through Europe. I wore them every day for a month in a variety of tough situations and they were excellent. I have worn these shoes while traveling to South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. They hold up well in day-after-day usage. I have also worn them as my only pair of shoes for weekend backpacking trips into the nearby mountains.

The soles of the shoes have a great tread, which works well in a variety of terrains (including bouldering, loose rock, mud, dirt, asphalt, you name it). They will tend to track mud, so if you are in mud, you will need to take some time to clean them properly that evening.

The Gore-Tex keeps the shoes dry in most (although not all) situations and is very breathable. If you step into a creek/river where the water flows over the top of the shoe (i.e. the instep area), it will leak inside. I've done that a couple of times and have had to dry them out overnight. So try to avoid going into water more than 3-4" deep to avoid getting the inside wet.

Probably the best endorsement I can give for these shoes is that I am willing to pay full price for them on my third go-around. I'm usually pretty price sensitive and look for shoes on sale, but this is the shoe for which I won't compromise.

I have had these for a few weeks and they keep getting better. The first two days I used them (the break in period) was necessary to soften the skeleton in the sole of the shoe. Since I pronate some it seemed the inner edge of my heel nearest the arch made constant contact with the plastic footbed where it rises slightly. Once this area seemed to break in and give a little more the hot spot went away. I have been reaping the benefits of this great runner ever since. The sole has very good wear characteristics, the relief cuts in the tread are not cracking or look to be a potential weak point I would say the sole is; flexible & grippy, yet does not transmit the sharp edges of terrain to your foot. The material is very resistant to trail damage while being protective in the thick areas around your toes and heel cup. Also so far the waterproofing doest not allow water through even though it does not shed off the material may look wet but you are comfy, dry, and well ventillated in spite of the waterproofing in the material. If this keeps up I may buy another pair!! UPDATE 10/08/09 shoes no longer water resistant, they have not been washed or treated in a way this should occure so quickly but that my latest news.

I walk 4-6 miles a day, 3 days a week while alternating 3 days with a Merrell boot. With nearly eight months in the shoe, I must say that it is the MOST comfortable athletic shoe I've ever worn. I bought it for its weather resistance but have not really used it preferring the Merrell boot for rainy days. The design is unique as there are no hot spots or rub spots like in all the shoes I've had in my lifetime. They feel like a comfortable slipper due to the sock-like design and much of the time you don't feel like you're wearing shoes, thats how comfy they are!

This shoe was recommended by my personal trainer and I have to admit at first I was skeptical but after using for 6+ miles a day for a month I LOVE THEM! I was skeptical because the available sizes forced me to go to a man's shoe where I'd grown accustomed to buying ASICS in wide and long sizes for women. Also my PT had vetoed several of my selections of trail runners because of the mesh and she is admittant that wet feet make for miserable training. I got these shoes about eight months ago... and have logged a few hundred miles in them.

I'm just a working stiff who likes to run three miles on the park trail near my house after work.

I'm no triathlete... but I wanted a high quality comfortable shoe because I spend a lot of time on my feet at work too.

These shoes have been excellent... super comfortable, if not super light... plenty of room up front. My 11.5s fit true to size.

They have worn incredibly well... probably should replace before the year is out... because after a couple of hundred miles most running shoes are at the end of their service life, I have found... but these are super durable... very water resistant, and still look fairly decent,

I highly recommend these shoes if you run off-pavement.

Perhaps the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. It will however wear out in less than a year of daily use... due to the use of thin layers of material which contact the ground.

If you walk/run a lot, it is always recommended to utilize a good quality hard orthopedic insert in the shoe. Don't waste your money on gel inserts unless you only walk around the office from time to time.

But seriously, the Peal iZUMi with its slipper-like feel and wrap around lacing system make this the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. The water resistant material also makes it ideal for some short bad weather exposure; keeping your feet dry and comfy.

Cheap ZemGear Ninja Low - Barefoot Minimal Shoes - Black/Black

I bought these shoes to try out barefoot running. I have been very interested in trying this since I first heard about it. If you search the web you will find an evangelical community supporting going barefoot, and as a person who has now tried it, I will add my voice to the choir. I use these to run, walk around the house, practice martial arts and someday I'd like to be able to wear them to work! Now you will recognize these split toe shoes as the famous "ninja shoes" that are called "Tabi" in Japan. I was surprised to learn that in Japan until recently rugged tabi shoes like the ZEM Boots were the shoes of choice for construction workers, farmers and any outdoor heavy labor. Being able to sensitively feel the ground is considered more important than protecting your feet in impenetrable cases (like steel toed boots). They are technically called Jika Tabi, literally; tabi that touch the earth, as compared to the cloth soled shoes that are for indoor/ceremonial use.

These shoes have an extremely thin sole that allows you to feel everything under you foot, I tell frieds that ask, "If I step on a penny, I know if it was heads or tails!" The foot feel is better than the more expensive barefoot runners like Vibrum Five Fingers, which I also own and love. Training on sharp pea gravel is an absolute party of sensation that make your brain tingle...

You might think that if I really wanted a barefoot running experience I would simply run barefooted, however I can say from painful experience that this is a tough nut to crack in the modern environment. If I try to run even a mile totally barefoot it's almost certain that eventually I will land hard on an isolated small stone, goathead, or piece of glass. The pain produced by this experience means that you spend the whole time anticipating such experiences. This results in a paranoid running experience rather than a joyful one. I can say that with a little training these very thin soles are enough to allow running with confidence on fairly difficult surfaces. *wrote this 6 months ago, I'm making significant progress running barefoot, but these are still best whenever you want to sightsee rather than watching your surface, great for hiking and rough country scrambling!

Finally, the price is right, there are starting to be a number of minimalist shoes out there, but none of them are carrying a minimalist price tag. Once you are hooked on the experience, you will probably spring for VFFs but these are a good starting space. In fact even with my high priced minimalist shoes I still often choose to take out my ZEM Boots, I own both these low tops and the higher top split toes now. If you run in the cold, the high tops are a good choice. I haven't tried the round toes yet though they may be a little easier look to pull off in public. Eventually you get used to everybody asking you, "What are those things on your feet?" it happens even with the all black shoes, though maybe a little less with round toes.

Try them, and prepare to be surprised.

**Addendum 9 months later, still love these shoes, I have turned many people on to them who are also impressed. They do wear along the seam of the sole and upper on both the outer and inner edge. Also for me they wear on this seam a little at the heal. Still very great life for the price, though I mod them with a line of shoe goo on this seam. Some of my friends have preferred the round toe version for their foot shape. I still prefer the split toe for the added stability during toe spring phase and hard lateral direction changes.

Love these shoes. I am a martial artist and I was looking for a nice light weight practical shoe that i could wear during practice. This shoe is perfect. A little snug and first. But after I engaged in a few kicks and jumps they loosened up. They are now very comfortable. They are true to size, in that they are exactly the size of your foot. which is why they fit so snug at first. Nevertheless, great for an indoor workout. Because of the material you can take them to the beach too.

I purchased these shoes back on 11/13/11. I wear a size 13 shoe, but got these in a 12 so they would fit snug. Getting them in a size 12 was a good decision. I would recommend that anyone would go a size lower than their sneaker size. I use these for my martial arts and MMA classes. They are extremely comfortable and don't scratch or scuff my partners when we're practicing moves. My only complaint is that they began to wear after about 4.5 months, and after 6 months the bottom of both shoes are worn out. I think I'm going to purchase a more expensive pair of these to see if they last longer. Otherwise, these are very good for my training purposes. Will definitely buy again.

Well having some expectations about this piece of footwear,I must admit I am a little disappointed.While the construction of it is well done the "universal" type fit that it states small med. large you get the idea leaves abit to be desired.the big toe section is fine but were your small toes go are the problem area.They will not fill out enough unless you are a size 11-11 1/2 maybe.the rest of the fit is good.and the "bare foot"feel is exactly that.The heal section can feel off and cause some pressure issues because your heal may not fit inside of the "heal cup" once again due to the universal fit.This is all coming from someone who has flat feet.That may or may not have some effect on the fit.Perhaps the ones that are not the Tabi style fit better.

This is our second pair of Tsukihoshi shoes for our son. He has large feet, including wide and thick. When he was a year old, he did well with Stride Rite. We've tried a few different brands that offer larger widths, but here's why we are sticking with Tsukihoshi for now.

1) The way the side of the shoe adjusts as you clasp the velcro acts like a custom fit around the middle of the foot, like a ski boot. We tried some cool looking, extra wide Puma's between his first and second pair of Tsukihoshi's. After his first day in the Puma's, he wasn't near as active and there were marks on the tops of his feet where they were too tight. Thankfully, Nordstom's was really cool about returning them and we bought his second pair of Tsukihoshi's. Our son was back to jumping and running around like his normal self the very next day.

2) The shoes have support and cushion in line with the advice given to me by my orthopedic surgeon. I was really impressed that a toddler shoe met those criteria. For example, support: turning the shoe perpendicular to the ground and push on the heel; the shoe should flex about a third of the way from the front, but not bend easily in the middle.

3) The width accommodates wide feet.

4) We've been very happy with the quality. They seemed to be of good quality in the store and have held up great ever since. He'd still be wearing the first pair of Tsukihoshi's had he not outgrown them. He's had the current ones for five months without any problems.

5) They are very easy to put on, even our 2 year old puts them on by himself without any problem. Markedly different from our experience with other shoes where you have to cram until ther's a slip and then tie or velcro. Again, the clasping mechanism is very slick. And, they fit snug and secure.

I'm glad Amazon is now offering these shoes. I'll be putting in an order for the next size up soon.

This is my daughter's 4th or 5th pair of Tsukihoshi's (I'm afraid I lost track!) and I am just as happy with these as I have been with every other pair. They are comfortable for my kids, they fit well and they LAST. We are yet to wear out a pair even though my kids are hard on their shoes. They wash amazingly well (just throw them in the washer...and I have dried them in a pinch even though the instructions say not to) and don't wear out. These are fabulous and since Amazon was offering free return shipping I wasn't concerned about trying to make sure I ordered the right size. Great purchase.

Although I did not purchase these shoes on Amazon, I do LOVE them. The idea of spending $100+ on a pair of running shoes was a bit excessive to me but I'm glad I did. After only three runs in these shoes, i am IN LOVE! In this shoe i feel like I can run longer and when I am done my feet, knees, and back don't hurt a bit! I am very glad I spent the money on these shoes. They are awesome for trail running and treadmill running as i do both for training.

This is my 4th pair of the Brooks Cascadia trail shoes. I love them! Even though I normally run on bike lanes and sidewalk paths, and never trails, these shoes fit and feel great. I never feel any shock in my knees when running with these shoes. All my other running shoes, no matter which store "fit me", I always have had a burning issue on the ball of my left foot. Even my foot doctor couldn't fully explain why, but my narrow foot and the long second toe issue, doesn't help the situation. I tried every kind of sock thinking it was the problem, but after I tried these Cascadia 7 trail running shoes, I don't run with anything else and no more burning problem on the ball of my foot!

You know how it is when you buy something that you find you really love and then a few years later when it's time to replace it, they don't make it anymore -and you always say to yourself -Darn!!! -why didn't I buy two of those back then!!

Well, for the first time in my life, that's just what I did today. A few months ago, I purchased a pair of Cascadia 7's, and I love them so much that I just ordered another pair of Cascadia 7's today for fear that I would never be able to get this particular model and color again a few years from now when they wear out.

I can't tell you how much of a difference these shoes have made in my life. I love these shoes!

On top of suffering from plantar fasciitis in my right foot and recently recovering from a stress fracture of my left foot -these shoes are --without a doubt --the most comfortable, supportive, light-weight, protective, good-looking, multi-tasking shoes I have ever had! And they are not hot they breathe! They have a lot of awesome features -they even have a rock plate built into the bottom to prevent against stone bruises! They can even accommodate bunions (fortunately -it's the one thing I don't have yet, but give me time!!!!)

I paired them with these awesome insoles from "Sole" -designed by famous mountaineer Ed Viesturs -called the Sole EV Signature Series Custom Footbed (also sold by Amazon) -and WOW talk about cushy, cushy comfort and good arch support! The insoles are a little pricey at $45, but well worth it. Over the years, I have tried Superfeet, Powerstep, and Spenco, but the Sole insoles literally blow all the others out of the water! They are a tad thicker, so you have to remember to size up your shoes accordingly. They are heat-moldable, but I never even bothered to do that. I normally wear a 10 or 10.5 shoe, but had to get an 11 to accommodate the cushy-ness of the insoles. Believe me though, you won't be sorry. Sole also offers thinner insoles if you so desire.

These are great all-around shoes, from walking the dogs to hiking a trail. I love the blue/turquoise color and get many compliments from people on them. I can't say enough about these shoes. They are terrific and I'm so glad I found them.

(P.S. I see Brooks has already come out with the Cascadia 8's, but I don't think they look as nice.)

I am a big Brooks fan. I use Adrenaline GTS religiously for running.

For vacation, we went to Peru to hike the Inca Trail and I notoriously HATE hiking boots. I scoured reviews for hours trying to find something comfortable and quick drying and I couldn't find anything that seemed worth the hefty price tag. Perhaps setting myself up for disastrous fail, I bought these in lieu of actual hiking boots. I could not have been happier!! Quick drying, COMFORTABLE and a shoe that was easy to move around it; had traction.. it was perfect. My feet were not aching after 5 days, they were easy to slip on and off, and I didn't trip or slip off the side of the Andes and plummet to my death.
