I am a running fanatic and have not tried out New Balance in quite awhile, but when I saw these shoes I thought wow they look great, but I wonder how they perform? Bought these shoes and as soon as they came in put em' on and they fit perfect. Literally ran a Half Marathon the next day, won 2nd place in them, and not one blister, no sore tores, nothing! They are very light and the toe drop is shorter than what I am used to training in, since I run a lot of trails, so I wear Salomons for that. These are strictly more for running pavement.

I am a size 5 length with a size 6 width. Adidas and Nike never fit me so I have been using Asics and Brooks and had never tried New Balance before. I couldn't find anything that I like for under $130 which is a ridiculous price to pay in my opinion. These shoes are vibrantly colored and fit decently well. They fit slightly bigger than most of my shoes, but nothing that I can't fix by tightening the laces. Beautiful shoes! I have received many compliments. The best part of these is the price. I go through many cross-training shoes a jazzercise instructor. These are a wonderful addition to the collection and function well.

I have become a "Minimalist" when it comes to running shoes. Even before reading "Born to Run" (by Doug McDougall) I've been running exclusively in racing flats. After reading the book, I had to try out the Vibram five-fingers, but they just didn't work for me (I have a crooked little toe from an old poorly-healed fracture, and the five-fingers wanted to force this a direction it didn't want to go). I still wanted a lightweight shoe; roomy enough to leave my toe alone. For me, this has narrowed down to the Asics Hyperspeed 4.

Advantages: Extremely lightweight. Thin sole. Low cost (usually less than $70. A huge relief over the $130 shoes I used to buy). Even the design and trim look leaner and less cluttered than its predecessor, the Hyperspeed 3.

Disadvantages: Perhaps no surprise, but they wear out quickly. Having said this, I can usually eke out 250 miles or more per pair. But when they wear out, they really disintigrate in a hurry. Another problem is that the "holes" in the uniquely designed sole (which helps them to be lightweight) seem to suck up tiny little pebbles. So far, my only solution to this is to select my running routes carefully.

I have run two half-marathons withe these, with no problems. And this includes all my training as well.

I've already gone through three pairs of Hyperspeeds and about to purchase a 4th. I use these for any speed work, triathlon run legs (up to 13.1mi) and road races from 10k-half marathon and couldn't be happier with their performance. While the outsoles tend to wear down faster than I like, and they aren't the lightest racing flats around, these shoes just have something special that keeps me coming back.

Pros

Excellent mid/forefoot cushioning despite weighing only 6 oz.

Uppers are airy/flexible while still providing support

Shoes allow for drainage through vents in outsole

Very inexpensive compared to racing flats of the same caliber

Cons

Low durability (I'm replacing them every 125-150 miles)

Outsole can pick up pebbles in drainage holes

Other notes:

Toebox is a bit wider than Nike, but on the medium/narrow side

Not a great shoe to wear after any rain, or on dewy offroad courses since water comes in through outsole

Definitely NOT a stability shoe.

I have run several marathons in these shoes and for the price they can't be beat! These shoes are light, fast and inexpensive. Lots of room in the toe box area and just enough cushion to run a marathon. I use these shoes for all my speed work, tempo runs and races. Other shoes comparably built are $30-$40 more and I have fould these shoes usually in the $60-$75 range. They are a deal and definitely worth it!!

Ok, all you minimalist, Born to Run enthusiasts, if you are thinking of getting this shoe, for the price, my recommendation is a cautious yes. I've purchased 2 pairs and they are light weight and fairly durable. I've run a 5K, 10K and 1/2 marathon in these and they've held up ok. I use these for the treadmill as well and they are perfect for that. I wanted to get the Mizuno Wave but I got 2 pairs instead for the price of one set of those.

I took out the shoes inserts and they fit better so I'd say they run a half size small. The waffle design on the bottom, although contributing to the lighter weight, is a bad design that lets rocks and dirt travel up into the bottom of the shoe as another reviewer pointed out. After the 1/2 marathon, my socks were black with road dirt. If you keep the inserts in however, it shouldn't be a problem.

I am primarily a Brooks runner, I thought i would try these though. its not a 0 drop shoe. i thought it would be close enough to not be able to tell. I was wrong. I ran 50 miles in these before i ran a half marathon and i got the most wicked blisters in these. my feet get extremely hot in these...not good. i dont recommend these to anybody with serious mileage. maybe for 5k and less. for more mileage i would recommend something else.

I have had a history of running injury (bilaterial tibial stress fractures). Relearning how to run has been a difficult process for me, slow and arduous. I have spent a lot of time working on my form and decided it was time for a new pair of running shoes. These are great for me -they have support and a minimal (4 mm) drop. Making them the perfect transition shoe (for me!) to dropless shoes or barefoot running, which is an eventual goal.

They look great and fit well. I am grateful for this investment and my shins thank me too! Since purchasing them, I have consistently felt better while running. Granted, we're all different, so anyone looking at running shoes, I would recommend a visit to your local running store to be properly fit.

Cheap Shoe GOO Shoe Repair 3.7 Oz Tube Black

I used the black Shoe Goo to build up the worn toplifts of the heels of my high end dress shoes (Ferragamo, Bally, AE, etc.). Was going to take some shoes to the Shoe Cobbler but I needed to replace the toplifts on over 10 pairs of shoes. So I decided to give this a shot after seeing videos of this done. I just completed 4 pairs of shoes. Works as advertised and once the heel and sole dressing is applied over the side of the heels it looks like new. Be sure to watch the japanese videos on youtube on how to do this. Takes about 5 mins to do per heel and another 5-7 mins per heel to finish once the Shoe Goo is dried.

TIPS:

* Watch all the Japanese videos on Youtube with the reps performing this task.

* Use a flat Ice Cube to flatten and make smooth once the area is filled.

* Once Shoe Goo is dry (12 hours) start with 220 grit sandpaper to lightly sand Shoe Goo and toplift rubber flush. Can also use 400 grit to smoothen after using the 220 grit.

* I use Kiwi heel and sole edge color renew to complate the job.

* Install heel taps after, Shoe Gooo is a bit softer then the rubber on the stock heel toplifts.

Cool stuff and easy to work with.

I use "Shoe Goo" to repair my own shoes and to patch up my "Ultra Paw" dog booties. Great product. Definitely put some vaseline on the inside rim/threading of the tube to prevent sticking.

This is great glue, the black version of Shoe Goo, Goop, Plumber's Goop, Automotive Goop, etc. All the 3.7 oz packs of similar looking glue are all identical,(except this is black) and made by the same company. This stuff is very strong, slightly flexible, and sticks to most everything.

To call this Shoe Goo is a a bit of a disservice to this product. Yes, I have reattached soles to several pairs of shoes with this stuff, with the repair lasting for years. But another poster pointed out the shoe goo Japanese web site with additional tips for using and working with this product. Worth a look.

This material (I prefer the black) starts out somewhat sticky and thick and not a lot of structural rigidity, but can be easily formed and pushed with a wet finger or popsicle stick. Over the course of a day it hardens to a much sturdier form. I have used it for household repairs, insulating, waterproofing and bonding smaller items. It has a permanent place in my toolbox and I prefer it over any silicone style rtv or adhesive for repairs. I'll stick with silicone caulk for tile and tubs but everything else that I want to fix and stay fixed, I use this or plastex.

I have worn Sidi's and Mavic's for the past 10+ years. These shoes fit nearly perfectly out of the box. The toe box is wider, giving my toes more room to wiggle and better for circulation. The heel retention is much better than my previous shoes, and the offset buckle/strap combination is more comfortable and better constructed than the Mavic's. The toe molding is much better placed to protect the upper mesh from toe damage (which ruined my other shoes after less than a year). The last is slightly more curved than the Mavic's, but it feels more stable for me (less pronation).

This shoe has both heat moldable insoles and the shoe itself can be molded at your LBS. I heat molded the insoles by myself, following instructions found on the internet, and they are now even more comfortable. I will continue riding with them indoors, and if needed, take them to my LBS to have the shoe custom molded at this point it feels like I won't need to.

I love this shoe! It has a little bit more lateral stability for running than the road glove, which makes it ideal for running on light to moderate trails or playing sports like basketball. The sole is identical to the road glove though so you will still get all the flexibility and excellent road feel. I also love that this has less heel cushioning than the road glove so it feels more stable. Very lightweight and the upper is highly breathable. Is does have a very thin liner though just like the trail glove, unlike the pure mesh upper of the road glove or the non-breathable sonic glove. The upper is also very flexible like the trail glove, much more so than the flux glove (non sport model) and sonic glove. I have tried many of the glove shoes and if I had to pick only one it would be this. The trail glove is great for the trails but is not great for the road or even heavily groomed trails. The sonic glove is not flexible enough, although waterproof. I would highly recommend this shoe! I must admit I found it for a lower price at sierra trading post though.

First time I've ever had a pair of barefoot style shoes (can't do the ones with the toes. Just can't). They fit really well and the toe box is very comfortable. I have periodic problems with my knees and joints and I've read that many people have experienced relief when using this type of shoe.

As of this review I've only worn them to one bootcamp class. If you've never worn this type of shoe for exercise, they do take a bit of getting used to. Also, don't be surprised if you get cramps in your feet at first. It took me a few rounds to work them out but after that they were fine. They have great traction and they breathe very well.

I hope they are as good as they seem. I will update after a few more weeks.

I got mine for $19.99, great deal, but totally not worth it. I pay $1.5 / mile running in these.

These are GREAT SHOES to run in by all means. Nonetheless, i ran less than 2 miles each time and for about 5-6 times, the top portion cracks off. GEEZE, i thought New Balance make good shoes but this is just a miracle, still hard to believe this $1.5 / miles result that i got.

PS: SHOES came BRAND NEW.

These shoes are xc flats. They are meant to be raced in only once or twice a week. They fit my feet perfect and it feels like paradise when I put them on. They are exactly what you are looking for in flats. Light, and breathable.

So obviously, this shoe is a cross country running shoe so it probably isn't designed for too much abuse. However, I have a fairly weird foot shape and the thin upper of most xc shoes make them very comfortable for every day use. That said, these won't give you too many days of use. The tread is incredibly soft, which is great for trail running and gripping, however if you happen to use it on pavement you'll wear down that tread in no time.

But even more distressing is the fact the uppers will literally deteriorate at the first brush up against any surface. They are very thin and a kind of mesh weave, which is good to keep a foot cool, but even running on trails, beware of anything that could snag the shoe. I made the mistake of running through a small amount of underbrush and it tore apart the side walls of the mesh upper. =(

I was lucky that I bought them on clearance for $20.00 USD, so I don't feel like I wasted my money. But I certainly wouldn't pay the normal price of $60.00+ for these shoes. As cool looking and comfortable as they are...you should expect them to be very disposable. I'd say find a XC shoe that is a little more durable unless you are absolutely in love with this shoe.

I have owned many different kinds of nikes and the Nike Roshe Runs have got to be one of the most comfortable shoes that I own.

Wearing these shoes makes it feels like you're walking on pillows. They are really stylish also, and Nike offers a wide variety of selection.

Really comfortable shoes, with or without socks! The insole and sole are soft yet durable. The mesh top is very breathable.

Although these shoes are really stylish and look "cool" I would not recommend running in them. In my opinion, I feel like they are

pretty big and too heavy for running. All in all, Nike Roshe Runs are a really comfortable shoe.

Specific with these shoes, they have become one of the most popular Nike Roshe Run color ways out there. That explains why the price on

these specific ones are so high. They have become a collectors item.

I will say right up front I am not a fan of minimalist shoes, at least for myself. People with a proper gait may benefit from them, but for those of us who aren't in that category (like me, an overpronator) they can lead to some real problems. However, I was curious to try a gym shoe with a little less built-in support to see how they'd feel and how they'd work with my orthotic. These seemed like a good compromise between a more minimalistic shoe and a traditional neutral runner, so I bought a pair and tried them on in the house.

I liked the lightweight feel of these, and was surprised that they did actually have a decent amount of cushion. However, the support was definitely lacking. Even with my orthotic I found my feet tipping inwards. They also seemed very narrow, especially around the midfoot area. My feet began to ache shortly after putting them on and I had to return them.

I don't think this is a bad shoe by any means, but it's important to realize that it's not made for everyone. If you are a lightweight person with a completely neutral gait and a good midfoot strike, you might really like these. Otherwise I recommend looking elsewhere.

I really like this shoe. I ordered my normal shoe size, 12, and they fit great. Fit is a little snug at first, but stretch out very quickly. Like most soccer type shoes they're made narrow. This shoe is all leather so it is a little warm in hotter weather. This shoe has a classic look of Sambas, but a lot more cushioning. I wear these shoes casually.

I loved the image on the screen when I ordered them and I was not disappointed when I received them, visually that is. they were more the size of and 11.5 than 13.5 that i ordered, and I blame this on quality control issues at over-seas manufacturing sites. But the question must be asked, "why is it that when you buy a basketball sneaker of the same brand, the sizing is more than adequate, but horribly off in a soccer shoe?" I am a lifelong fan of Adidas sneakers but found this item to be all flash and poor execution. If you are looking to purchase these online, I would either go an extra size up, or better yet, buy the original Sambas, which are still true to size.
