I've been trail running in Costa Rica for two years now. This is my third pair of Asics (previous pairs were the Trail Sensor). This improved version is not beautiful (I still don't understand why ALL women's shoes have to have pink! Men's designs are always SO much nicer!!) but I find them even better than the Sensor. Grip is outstanding (we have a lot of muddy, slippery surfaces in Costa Rica) and cushioning fantastic. My friends are always complaining how ¨hard¨their trail shoes are. I have never had one single complaint re Asics. To be seen: how heavy they get when they are wet (my only CON re the Sensor). I will be crossing a couple of rivers this weekend to try them out! (this is why I rated 4 stars instead of 5; plus the pink factor)

Great shoe. I love asics and have a few pairs of the gel kayano style...my podiatrist recommended that style because i over pronate and have VERY flat feet. these shoes fit similarly and are very supportive. Also, because they are "trail" shoes they have little grips on the soles which I have found very useful in the rain...helps to prevent me from slipping and i really feel like i grip the ground.

I run almost entirely on trails, anywhere from 6 miles to 25 miles, and so far I have no complaints. Fit is true to size, good cushioning on rocky trails, but not clumsy. I just ran a 20 mile run on some pretty rough, steep terrain, and they performed great. I love the colors, great for accessorizing with my running apparel, it shouldn't matter, but it does! These shoes are a regular in in running shoe rotation.

I love the colors of the shoe just a hint of brightness without looking like I'm just a fashionista (hey, I want to be taken seriously when I'm getting a workout too)! These would work as a nice looking sneaker to wear around town for some casual shopping or a lunch date, but they will work even better for their real purpose: hiking. The shoe comes up just enough on the ankle to give a little bit of extra support on uneven terrain and the rock plate will definitely help protect my feet. The rock plate does take a bit of time getting used to because it lessens how much you can feel the ground at the mid-food andw heel; however, it doesn't inhibit your natural foot motion and there is still plenty of flexibility at the forefoot. The sole is nicely padded and the shoe is still fairly lightweight I have lighter sneakers for other activities but these are the perfect weight for some hiking and making some trail running (serious trail runners may want something lighter and/or without the rock plate though). Finally, I wear a size 9 1/2 in pumps and a size 10 in flats and sneakers; these are true to size and the size 10 fit like a glove. I also wanted to mention that the toe box does provide a little extra room which I usually don't care for, but the snugness of the rest of the shoe made me not even notice it at first... All in all, a great shoe and I highly recommend this!

Terrific trail running shoe. Great stability but also light. Good for neutral runner. Good traction in snow but not ice. Also not as warm as other Asic trail runners due to mesh forefoot.
