I do most of my running on rocky, mountainous trails--splashing through water on occasion. I'm a heavy runner and pronate too. These won the all-around trail shoe of the year last year from Trail Runner Magazine so I decided to try them. They are awesome--in fact, I'm ordering another pair for this year. They are very stable, flexible, but not too flexible and they really protect my toes from the rocks. When running on rocks, the rock plate does an awesome job of "smoothing" out the footing. I'm in love. Pulled them out of the box and ran six hilly trail miles. My feet aren't tired or sore at all. They somehow give my duck foot shaped toe area enough wiggle room while still looking lean and mean. I love the combo of flexible sole for easier running while still feeling very stable side to side. The included insole is really solid and supportive and feels good on my foot but didn't dare use it for this long of a run so stayed with my Superfeet insole and the shoe and it got along fine. I have tried a lot of shoes trying to find just the right fit and this is IT. Really nicely made quality shoe. Next jaunt for me and my Lightnings a 15K. Oboz is my new fave shoe company.

I usually wear a 9 M or W. The left shoe fit perfectly and felt good. I recently broke my rightnankle and the swelling has not gone down enough for the right shoe to be comfortable, so I will return them. They are a very nice style, but a stiff shoe appropriate for hiking and trail running, but not appropriate even for walking for my healing anke. I expected them to be softer, as a couple of reviews indicated. Also, they didn't seem to help my suppination as one review indicated. I love my Oboz hiking shoes which need to be replaced soon, but my right foot won't be ready for this type of shoe for quite a while. I do have some relatively new Asics Nimbus 15 which are great for my ankle's recovery phase.

These are great! The only reason they did not receive 5 stars is because they run a tad short. I like to wear thick socks when I hike, but I cannot wear them with these shoes. They are so comfortable that I went ahead and purchased thinner socks rather than return.

These are by far the best shoes for walking I've ever owned. I just bought my second pair. My first pair did not wear out but I keep them in my gym bag for the Y. I want the souls to stay clean. They fit well. I can walk and do the treadmill for miles with no little aches anywhere. I broke my ankle a year ago and sprained the other one last summer so that is saying something. Buy them. You can't go wrong.
