I've been running in Vibram FiveFingers shoes for several years now and completed a marathon in my KSO's, with zero pain. Prior to switching to barefoot running I suffered from knee, lower back, and hip pain .....now I only have sore calves. If you haven't tried barefoot running, you're missing out. The Spyridons do NOT disappoint. They have a bit more traction which makes them less slippery on wet surfaces, and the soles feel a bit more thick, so you feel the pebbles under your feet a little less. This only matters in off road running. They fit like a glove (as they should), but make sure you properly measure your foot. I wear a size 6.5/7 and I wear a 38 in these shoes. If you follow the measuring guide on the vibram site, you'll be fine. If you plan on wearing these with socks, go a size up. I generally buy two pairs...a 38 for sock less running, and a 39 for winter time when I wear them with toe socks (super cozy and comfortable!)Best Deals on Vibram FiveFingers Spyridon Running Shoe - Women's
I'm a former collegiate runner and have had MANY pairs of athletic shoes! However, the older I get (I'm 32) and I'm a mother of two littles now, I need shoes that can do a lot more than be just for running. I live in Wyoming and we're up in the mountains, trails, over the river (and through the woods), along with chasing my toddlers constantly... AND road/trail running with my double jogger. These shoes are awesome. Traction in and out of the water, but easy to slide on and wear around the house for everyday stuff. I did a lot of research on which Vibrams I wanted and would be best for me and these are EXACTLY what I needed and wanted!Honest reviews on Vibram FiveFingers Spyridon Running Shoe - Women's
I have really high arches in my feet and I've found that walking barefoot is so much easier on my feet than walking in a tennis shoe. Those silicone support things you put in shoes (The name of them is escaping me) have never helped. However, as soon as I put these shoes on my feet felt support like they never have. I LOVE THEM!I do recommend though that you need at least a week adjustment period of walking in them before a big hike or long walk. These shoes make you use muscles in your feet you never have so you get sore fast.
