My husband and I started doing some light exercising (2-3 mile casual walk every day, usually 2-3 times per day on the weekends, and I've been doing some fitness games on the Wii and Xbox and some dance choreography workouts as well for about 45 minutes per day, sometimes more since my 3 and 5 year old sons beg me for "another one dance party please please" a few times a day. :)

I started this with buying a pair of Nike air avenue walking shoes. These not only left blisters on the side of my toe they also left bruising all lover the top of my feet, even when I would loosen them so much they would fall off with any big step. I don't get the bruising at all but it definitely meant I was not going to continue wearing them.

I then went to a nice locally owned/operated shoe store we have in town and had them measure me officially since it hadn't been done at all since before I got pregnant for the first time and people say your shoe size can change while pregnant. It looks like mine did not though, I am still a size 7.5 and I still need a narrow width and should buy that whenever needed.

While there I got a park of DKNY Active Element shoes. These are SUPER comfortable shoes for wearing around the house or running out to the school and I love how flexible they are. However, they do not offer enough support. I'm flat footed and always end up over-pronating while walking. Over-pronation for me usually ends with twisted ankles while walking and/or severe leg cramps later in the night, 2-3 hours after we get back from our walk. These shoes provide little to no medial supper so they just weren't cut out for me. I gave them to my sister since we are the same size and she loves them!

So while looking for another pair of shoes, preferably ones that don't lead to pain and/or injuries this time, I remembered loving all my adidas shoes I had in high school and college. I decided to try them again. I ordered these because they are for kids as opposed to adults (a 5.5 kid's shoe is the same size as a 7.5 women's shoe) and I was hopeful that this would mean they'd run narrower than they equivalent shoes made for adults. I do think they are slightly more narrow, not by much though. I've now worn them out on our walks 4 times and am happy to say I have had no blisters, bruises, twisted ankles or leg cramps since receiving these shoes!

The only issue I have is that they seem to be running about one half size too big, a little more than that actually, but not a full size big, ya know? I'm going to order a second pair half a size smaller, but I probably won't use them till these ones are worn out since they definitely fit well enough and are comfortable so no sense in getting rid of them yet!

My 5 year old daughter ran a mile in Twinkle Toe Sketchers when we finally realized that she would benefit from a pair of running shoes. Now she wears her Addidas all the time! She's forgotten all about her light-up sneakers. She says they are very comfortable and help her run fast. As a mom, I found them to be absolutely adorable!
