If you're planning to make this your first pair of Vibrams, then make sure to check out my review of the Vibram KSOs, where I explain how to find the best fit for any pair of FiveFingers. I found size 41 to be the perfect fit for me with the KSOs, and while some people recommend sizing up for the Flows since they fit a little tighter, size 41 Flows also fit me perfectly.
I bought the Flows since they're recommended for colder climates and it was getting too cold out to keep wearing my KSOs. I've worn my Flows in temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit so far and they've kept my feet tolerably warm, although certainly not toasty warm or anything like that. They'll work best at keeping your feet warm as long as you keep moving by walking or running while wearing them; if you just stand around or sit out in the cold for long while wearing them, your toes are going to start to get numb.
I've also worn my Flows a few times on rainy days, and they do a great job of keeping your feet dry since they're made of neoprene, the same material used in wetsuits. They're not waterproof in the sense that they won't let any water in, but rather that they won't retain any water once it does get in. Because of that, it's not advised that you wear toe socks with the Flows if you plan to get them wet, as the water will soak into the socks and end up making your feet colder.

I've had foot problems since I can remember and I can't imagine how much money I've spent over the years on custom made footwear and orthodics. I started "shoeless" running a few months ago against my better judgment, only to find that foregoing my usual footwear was the cure for all my foot problems. While "shoeless" running on a treadmill is OK, the outdoor environment is brutal on the surface of my "paws".
I tried the five fingers shoe on the suggestion of a friend and I have to say they are the best thing that has ever happened to me and ailing feet. Two thumbs WAY up on this one.

Great for colder weather, water sports. Clean easily and dry fast! Great product and well made. Soles have fantastic grip, and work well on ice if you move slow...
Honest reviews on Vibram FiveFingers Men's Flow Watersports Shoe
I got a pair after running around in my FiveFingers KSO Men's by Vibram and knew that winter was coming in and I wanted something that would be a little warmer and water resistent. I was hoping the Flow's would do, especially if I added socks to them. Unfortunatly the Flow isn't what I was hoping for. The warmth factor isn't there in the winter time (boy, you do feel it though in the summer) and when it's wet you can feel the water coming into the shoes, not what I was really looking for. Merged with the fact that my Flow's tore more easily than my KSO's (cactus and yucca) made me want to run around more in my KSO's or get a different style. A very average pair of shoes for this line.

After running around my neighborhood a few times in normal shoes (Nike revolution) I decided they didnt feel right. So I went barefoot and it made me feel great. See, the problem with normal shoes, is they keep your toes squished together, makeing running around difficult and uncomfortable. With fivefinger shoes, u have an almost barefoot feeling, but instead of twigs stabbing your feet when u run, its almost like there is nothing on the ground. The flows really stood out to me. They said,"hey, im perfect for you!" so I went and tried a pair on and bought them. Now, the problem is getting them to fit, as they are meant to fit snugly. But once on, u wont want to take them off. Being a traceur, (look it up) these helped me by providing grip on the ground the same way barefooted running does, but with a grippyer material that almost never losses its grip. If you are going to get vibram shoes, I would start with the bikilas or seeyas first, as they are an introductory style, then work your way up to the flow. A great pair of shoes, they will keep your feet warm, and keep water out for the most part. I would recommend these to anyone.
