I supposed the "ultra-comfortable" could be a bit misleading (depending on your definition of comfort), but these are meant to be marketed towards a similar demographic as the Nike Free i.e. closer to barefoot, or stripped down. The CC Chill has very flexible soles (both laterally and front-rear) and strengthens your feet and ankles specifically by removing the lateral support and front-rear rigidity. Also, by removing excess padding, creates a greater connection with the ground resulting in (assuming you choose to pay attention and not ignore it), better running form as you actually feel the consequences of the improper form most people use while running. The result is comfortable, but minimal cushioning taking the edge off of impact without completely disconnecting you from your environment a fact that results in lazy, sloppy form, and thus injuries the fruit of bad form. There's a lot less to these shoes than your average running shoes, and that is by design. Pain after wearing is going to be common for many people simply because it requires the use of muscles most shoes carry along like a child in a strollerlike the stabilizers in your ankle. Assuming you do not have any arch issues (which many people do, unfortunately), these can be great for your feet and great for your workout. Even if arch supports are an addition to the shoe, you'll still enjoy and benefit from the design. I would, however, caution anyone before using these on long asphalt runs, as anything short of nigh-perfect form could be rather hard on your joints and shins. If used thoughtfully, and transitioned into gradually, they are indeed a comfortable, and effective addition to your training/fitness without going to the more extreme end of the minimalist spectrum that is Vibram FiveFingers.

I usually wear

Nike Shox, etc. size 9

New Balance size 9

Puma size 8.5 to 9.5

Kenneth Cole size 9

Adidas size 9

Bought the size 9 and they were tight. My big toe was at the very tip.

Returned and bought the size 9.5

Better fit. About 1 cm from big toe to tip of shoe.

Just went on a brief run. I normal pronate my feet and have normal arches.

Pros:

very light weight

looks

snug sock-like fit

good cushioning throughout

good traction on dry pavement

Cons:

not much arch support

These are very cool, comfortable shoes and the flex sole really does remind me of the Nike Free barefoot effect. The previous reviews were right about sizing. I normally wear 10.5 in all the Adidas I have purchased but I ordered these in size 11, and they fit perfectly (my measured shoe size is around 9.5).

Honest reviews on adidas Men's CC Chill Running Shoe

I had expected really comfortable shoes--they are described as ''ultra-comfortable'' in the product description. But honestly my feet hurt a bit after wearing them. Especially when compared to other shoes at similar pricing, these can hardly be considered ''ultra-comfortable.'' They do, however, breathe easy and are extremely lightweight. My next step will be to replace the soles with some quality ones. Also, these shoes look really cool.
