This is by far the best shoe I have ever bought. It has already accompanied me in several trails and long camping trip. Not once has it made me feel uncomfortable, blister, or excessively sweat inside. The traction is very great so a little bit of loose sediment or mud won't impede your way. You'll also be able to tell that this is one tough pair of shoes. I've worn it many times but it still feels brand new.

The waterproof lining is a great addition, but it won't stop water coming up and over. It won't keep your feet dry if you're crossing a stream that is taller than the shoe (duh), but that's what gaiters are for.

If you love the outdoors and have the cash, GO FOR IT.

p.s. just don't try to dance in them. you'll probably end up eating it because the traction is so good.

This is my second pair of North Face low cut shoes and after having the first pair for 3 years wearing them down to a nub, I was definitely going to get another pair. THe gortex lining inside is actually quite good at keeping your feet dry as long as the water is just a puddle. Very comfortable, took about 3-4 days to break in and had some minor blisters from all the walking so I suggest you wear them a day a week for a few weeks before a trip if that's where you will use them. Now they are soft and I wear them all the time. Good colour, the Gray doesn't look dirty as easily as the black does.

-This is the best all around shoe. It does great in the desert, the woods, the snow, and on rocks.

-The Gortex liner is great, but it isn't designed for marching in knee high snow.

-It isn't too hot and does allow my foot to breath. I live in Phoenix and when it is 115F, I don't want my feet to bake.

-Breaking in was easy; no blisters for me.

-The Vibram sole is awesome. It grips everything and doesn't rapidly wear.

-I just regret not buying them sooner. Well worth the money.

This is my third pair of North Face Shoes that I have purchased. Let me say that they are built to stand up to anything. I work in a warehouse/retail environment , that requires to be on my feet some 9 plus hours. My feet feel great from the time I put them on till I get home from work. Plus slipping a pair of orthotics in and they really feel good. The construction is well built and the sole has remarkable traction, even in wet conditions. So, you want a show that is comfortable and has some good looks, and is built well, look no further.
