I was absolutely blown away by the difference between running in these and my old shoes. Where with my old shoes I would have to take quick walking breaks every mile or so, with these I am able to run at a set speed for one hour non-stop and still have enough steam at the end to finish with a sprint. I don't even bother warming up I just hop on and start running. I've been using these for a month, and forgot what it feels like to have pain in my legs. I also noticed because of the cushion you can't even hear me running where before my footsteps would be clearly audible over treadmill noise in the gym. That former impact was a big part of the pain in my legs.
A word of caution I ordered these in the same size as my regular street shoes and after 2 days ended up with a 'runner's toe' on my left foot. Part of the reason was the fact that I was able to run a lot more thanks to better cushion. Make sure you do not make the same mistake. Go half a size larger just in case. I definitely wouldn't recommend wearing these for anything other than running your feet will be cold as the front top is just mesh.
I used to hate running, but now whenever I put these babies on, I can't wait to get to the gym. It doesn't hurt that they look pretty sleek as well (I went with the all black version).

I ordered these shoes to wear at work. I know they are running shoes but I spend alot of time on my feet, on a concrete floor. The shoes arived fairly quickly and in good condition. For future buyers I noticed that the shoes a pretty narrow and might be slighly small for thier listed size, but mine seem to fit ok. I am a little worried about durability of the thin mesh over the toe area, but the breathabitity is nice.Best Deals on ASICS Men's GEL-SD Lyte Running Shoe
I guess I would call this pair of shoes a somewhat disappointing effort from a normally good manufacturer. The last pair of running shoes I had were also Asics, and they are literally the best pair of shoes I've ever worn. However, even allowing for the inevitable sense of disappointment when switching from a pair I found so comfortable, these SD Lytes are a little subpar. Not bad, but not really good either. They're just kind of awkward shoes all the way around. I was willing to overlook the strange appearance because they were cheap (less than $40) and from the brand I liked so much before. The fit made me wish I had just dropped the extra $10-$15 for something more traditional. It's hard to explain what I don't like about these shoes: they aren't UNcomfortable, but they're not really comfortable either. They're too big without actually being too big, if you know what I mean.
From the outside, they're the same length as other pairs of 10D running shoes I have laying around in various states of disrepair, but they feel loose on my heel. Not slipping exactly; I've been wearing them for awhile and I have yet to have any blister problems. There's just a distracting movement on my heel when I run, even when cinched up as tight as I can get them.
They're not all bad. To be fair, even though they're loose I haven't had any blisters or more serious problems (cramps, joint pain, et cetera). The high-abrasion outsole or whatever they're calling it does seem to provide more traction and the extension of the sole material up the sides of the shoe make me think it will be more durable than most mesh running shoes. Also pseudo-heel-slippage aside, the width and arch fit is perfect for me.
Overall, I'd say these would be worth looking into if you're looking for a pair of shoes for walking and light activity like work or school that will stand out a little bit, or if you think Asics are usually too tight on your heel. However, if you're like me and looking for a running shoe to fit your narrow foot, be aware that this is probably not the pair for you regardless of whose logo is on the side.
