My son wears orthotics and we have a hard time finding a shoe for little boys that actually offers some support and isn't a fashion shoe. These shoes are great! They are cute enough, offer great support, and have held up to my very rough 4 year old. He never complains about his feet hurting. The only thing I don't like, and I didn't reduce the rating for this, is the laces don't stay tied very well. They are round and seem to come lose often.
These shoes are twenty five dollars more in the store than on Amazon, so you are getting a great shoe for an excellent price.

We received these shoes on a friday, by monday morning the tread pieces on the bottom of one shoe was coming off.
Exchanged them for a different style of New Balance that we had good luck with before. It was probably just a fluke, but it was still disappointing.

This is the only shoe brand that my son can wear. As it turns out New Balance is the only company that makes a wide shoe for kids. The bonus is their prices aren't bad and they are really well made.

These shoes are well built and hold up to ABUSE!! My 8 year old is very rough on shoes and we buy a new pair about every 3 to 4 months. These shoes are well built, especially around the toe area. I will definitely look for another pair for our next purchase. Also, we have a problem finding shoes that are wide enough. These shoes have a very wide box and fit his foot great! (We purchased the XW width)

My grandson wears an extra wide shoe in a boys youth size 4 and these were too tight. I use to be able to depend on New Balance but these were very narrow. I ordered extra wide and he could not even get them on his foot! Amazon was great about taking them back.
