I purchased this shoe for my son for baseball at a local Academy store before it was available on Amazon. I always look for the lightest weigh quality shoes for my kids at a decent price. That pretty well sums up this shoe. It seems true to size, and is durable. We had been buying Nike, and it is a very good shoe, but this one was a bit lighter despite being higher on the ankle, at a similar price point. Moderately higher priced shoes such as these seem to get you newer lighter, usually more durable materials. We are starting our second season in these. My son likes them, we will buy them going forward. The light weight of this shoe is truly amazing, and it is a mid ankle shoe. Thanks.

I had read in reviews that the the box is roomy, or I would have never ordered them.

If you have narrow feet, and/or don't mind your toes being crammed together not able to splay while running, you may not mind these shoes. You may also like Nikes and Pumas in this case.

After two months in Altra Torin shoes that have a crazy roomy toe box, my toes got used to space and freedom, and these shoes did not provide that, unfortunatley.

I can't even comment on the sole, because I just could not wait to get the shoes off my feet again.

Too bad! They look great, and I was excited to try out this new technology maybe at some point, more shoe companies will look at how feet are shaped and try to shape their shoes after our feet.

I rate them 2 stars, one for beng innovative, and one for the pretty look.

Best Spenco Gel Heel Cushion Deals

I purchased Spenco gel heel inserts because I wanted additional cushioning under my heel, because of Achilles' tendon issues and some plantar fasciitis.

The inserts helped on both counts.

They are easy to install (I inserted them under the insole, and they worked well. They also stayed put better than some other heel cushions I've tried. They also retain more spring than I'd expect after lots of hard use.

I rated them four stars because they do what they are supposed to do nothing stellar, but clearly a good, solid product.

At the same time, I'd note, though, that I haven't found any five-star heel cushions yet, although I've tried some twos. I'm not sure what a five-star heel cushion would do.

I run 4 miles every day and developed plantar fasciitis in my left heel. Began using the heel insert (on left heel only) over a year ago and the problem has just about disappeared. They seem to last a long time I transfer them from old to new running shoes.

The other day, I ran in new shoes without the cushion I realized it about 1/2 mile into my run when I felt some left heel discomfort. Today I ran in the same shoes with the insert felt great. They make a big difference for me at minimal cost.

I have horrible pain in one hip because the opposite leg is a little shorter. I used two stacked together as a riser on my short leg side and one on the bad hip side and it does help considerably. They stay in place well and cushion very well alleviating heel pain and hip pain.

These insoles worked great. I was only having pain in 1 heel. I tried the complete shoe insole, but it made all of my shoes fit too tight. I then tried the heel insoles, which is what was recommended by a podiatrist friend. After several weeks of wearing them, all of my heel pain is gone.

I was at first quite pleased with this shoe--it is an EE and has a lot of mesh both of which I need for foot comfort. However, today, one of the straps that runs up the side of the shoe and that serves as a lacing eyelet became detached. This a bit disappointing in a $120 shoe. I suspect that New Balance would be glad to replace it, but I'm going to weigh that against trying to fix it myself.

First Review: I received this shoe quickly and it met my expectations. I was especially looking for a wide fit for my foot and the shoe proved comfortable--buying the shoe in a store would have been a hassle. I also had a question for the merchant and received a very quick and informative email response. Good experience.

The N-lock design for holding the laces in place seems like a good idea for comfort and stability, but not if you are planning on working these shoes hard. In less than a month from purchase, two of the four N-lock straps have separated from the bottom of the shoe. These are worn every three days (in a rotation with two other NB shoes), inside only. Other than the shoes starting to fall apart, they are very comfortable in the weight room and for short jaunts on the track -just keep 'em off the court. I was surprised that New Balance would design a shoe where the laces are held in place by a small strap.

Sizing on these was hard I had to get a couple sizes before I got the correct one. Every site said something different about them being too big or too small. I wear an 8 in most shoes (an 8 1/2 in my Nike Free running shoes but I like those big) and I settled on the 38 in these. I didn't want any extra room really wanted them to fit like gloves so when I am going downhill my big toe sometimes hits the end but it is not at all a problem. I have run roads in Nike Frees (5's) for 2 years nothing else, but they just picked up too much of the trails in the treads and I felt that there was too much extra shoe. This shoe kept the minimalist feel that I like and added a really great grippy tread. Since I am used to the neutral/minimal shoes, I didn't take time to break them in slowly but if this is your first time in this type shoe, you likely want to take them for short runs first or you're going to get sore calves. No blisters when I took them right out of the box and ran for 1 1/2 hours. I will wear them with socks they're not super breathable so my feet got sweatier than usual. In the winter, they will probably be perfect and for now, I can handle a little sweat. Love the navy they're a great looking shoe.

This is a very nice looking minimal shoe with great traction. I am flat footed so I find barefoot style shoes more comfortable then regular running shoes. I was looking for something with good traction after suffering a fall while trail running, but I also wanted something that was good looking enough to take on vacation and wear from trail to town. I followed the seller recommendations and ordered a size up. They were too big, I would stick with your regular EU shoe size. The toe box is very roomy, the laces can be sinched up tight for a narrower foot. Overall I like this shoe alot. I would give this five stars but I have only had them a few days so it will depend on how they hold up. I love that these are a vegan recycled shoe.

I read a lot of WONDERFUL reviews of these shoes and was very excited to buy a pair. I have a pair of barefoot running shoes by another brand, but the trails where I live have a lot of loose rocks. The treads on the Neo look great for the conditions. The sizing is European, and translates into only whole US sizes. I typically wear a 7.5 in shoes. The 37 (7) was a bit too short but the width fit well. The shoes fit, but just walking around my apartment in them, I felt that if I was running downhill, my toes would uncomfortably jam into the toe of the shoe. I also don't think thick socks would be an option with that size. I exchanged the first pair for a 38 (8) and the shoe was much too big too long and too loose. So I think if you wear a half size, you may have to try another brand. It's unfortunate because looking at both pairs I ordered, the shoes are very well made. They are light, have great treads, tie tightly and have a nice fit around the ankle.

OK: 4 stars for the product. 1 for inconsistent sizing. Even in the same model different colors fit differently. Makes buying a challenge. Have been wearing shoes like this for a few years and wear a 9.5 in ALL minimalist shoes ~wear mostly New Balance and Nike. If I want to wear socks (not thin ones) I will go up 1/2 size. This is the sizing difference between a Euro 40 and 41. I have the Evo in 41 and wear it with thin socks and it fits snug, like minimalist shoes should. Can wear them without socks and they fit great. Same with Breatho's. LOVE those.

I bought these to wear with (thicker if needed) socks. As the other reviewers mentioned, the toe box is very roomy which is nice for those of us with wider feet. The length isn't longer (like some Nikes). As far as feeling the lugs underneath: that would depend on socks or no socks and not something that I find bothersome nor significant in this shoe.

When I first got these I tried them on with fluffy cotton socks and decided to keep the 41. Sadly after a couple of wears it is quite clear they are about 1/2 size too big. Tried tying them tighter and made myself numb :) If I went down to a 40 with socks, my toes would hit the end.

I've owned these shoes for almost a year now and I'm impressed. Truth be told, when I purchased them on-line I mistakenly thought they were white they're silver. But they look sharp. More importantly, they wear very well and fit my feet nicely. My usual routine is 4-6 miles 2x/week of power walking with an aerobic (elliptical, weights) workout in between. They must have 400 miles on them already and look/feel as good as new. There's no tongue, it's an integrated one piece set-up, but literally goes on like a slipper. Good cushioning and good rebound during my 14 minute miles...I highly recommend them.

I strongly encourage anyone who wants to buy running shoes to go to his/her local running store and finding a pair that is a good fit. A local running store with experts is the best...not a DSW warehouse type of store. I went to Runningfit, did a walking test, learned that I overpronate and needed a good stability shoe. I tried on several pairs, but the Mizuno Wave Inspire 9 fit my feet the best. In my opinion, Mizuno's tend to be narrower and size is smaller. I went up half a size.

These shoes are incredibly lightweight, provide sufficient cushioning (although I thought Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 provided more cushion but it wasn't as lightweight), and support my feet well to prevent injury. I love these shoes. I love the color. I've only had them a few days and have ran 30+ miles. Absolutely no regrets.

If you don't have access to a running store, have someone watch you walk to see if you pronate. You can also take online tests that will recommend shoes for you (). I also suggest runningwarehouse.com because they provide FREE returns. I've had a positive experience with their customer service as well.

Bottom line: 1) try on shoes to find a good fit. 2) I love my Mizuno's.

I bought these shoes at a local running store, not Amazon, but I love them so much I had to pass on a good word.

I started running last year with a pair of Asics. They were a motion control shoes to help me with my gait. After wearing them out thoroughly, I went back to my local store and was fitted again. They had me try on 4 different shoes and this one was the winner by a long shot.

I'm picky about how my shoes fit very picky. I also have a borderline narrow foot, so shoes like most Brooks don't work for me because the toe box is too big. My Asics were great while I was "learning" how to run, but the motion control came too be too much and I found myself tripping over their bulk. I needed something lighter, something that would conform to my foot and run with me, not against me. Enter, the Mizuno Inspire 9.

I can't say enough good things about this shoe! It fits my heel/ankle area perfectly. It hugs in all the right places and makes me feel like my shoes are on securely. The toe box is a perfect fit, as well. An attribute that sold me on the toe box is its mesh covering. My feet get really hot when I run (despite appropriate socks). The mesh helps my feet aerate while I'm running, so I don't have to take my shoes off immediately after to let them dry. Also, the material on the shoes seems pliable enough that as my feet swell after running, the shoes don't dig into my feet. My last pair I had to take off within minutes of ending my run because of heat and swelling. I've worn these for hours after and felt like they are not only comfortable, but also therapeutic. And all these great qualities aren't even my favorite! My favorite part about these shoes is the internal structural plate. When I'm running, I can feel the energy transfer difference. With my last pair of shoes, as I fatigued, my shoes felt heavier and my steps became sloppy. With these shoes, as I run, I feel like I get into a better groove and can transition steps even more effectively.

As far as I'm concerned, I will keep using these shoes until Mizuno changes the design too much or until they are no longer made. I'm training for a half marathon in August and feel confident knowing I'll have these shoes along for the ride.

I have been running (injury free, yay) on Wave Inspire 8s for some time. I love them beyond belief. I was excited about try the 9s. Despite the fact that they look awesome they feel completely different to me--less cushy, tighter, not "made for my feet" like the 8s feel. I have a crappy knee and need lots of cushioning, and these aren't going to cut it. Going to return these and pick up a couple pairs of 8s before they are gone from stores.

Who knew Mizuno made running shoes? Not me. I was at my local RoadRunner and tried on at least 10 pairs before these were brought out. I was surprised to see Mizuno since I only knew of them as a baseball brand. I was in the early days of training for a half marathon and my old Sauconys were not going to last much longer. As soon as I tried these on I knew they were the one. Here's what I like about the shoe (keep in mind this is coming from a complete novice to the running world):

-they provided just the right amount of support for me. I am not a fan of shoes that are too soft/"cloud"-like or shoes that have a stiff sole

-the shoe does not have high side support (on the outside of the shoe beneath the logo). I am a size 5 and have a wide foot so shoes with too much side support cause pain after long distances

-obviously the color is great and super fun! I actually had the black pair first but once I got home and saw the blue pair online I quickly exchanged them

-they are light as a feather! I enjoy wearing them while I'm out running errands, too.

Note: as another review stated below, the stock photos aren't a true reflection of the color of the shoe. The photos show more of a sky blue/periwinkle whereas the actual shoe is a vibrant bright blue think somewhere between Robin Egg Blue and Cerulean from the Crayola box. Yep, I just went there.

For anyone who needs to wear something casual but not TOO casual like ordinary sneakers, but still needs the cushioning and comfort of padded-heel sneakers, Saucony Originals are the answer. They let you choose colours to go with different outfits and still walk in sneaker-like comfort. They are defintely more padded than most ordinary (and expensive) so-called 'walking shoes' in the market (I have tried them all over the years, even the most expensive brands). Saucony Originals beat them all. I walked through the Museums and Galleries of London and then explored the street sites for hours each evening in my Saucony Oringinals and was amazed to find that my feet did not hurt by the end of the day! Usually just a few hours walking on the hard marble floor of a Museum is enough to get my feet aching. My Sauconys allowed me 10 hours of pure pleasure with no pain!! Without looking like a dork! Now I wear them to my business appointments matched with smart-casual pants. I always get admiring comments on them (my first pair are a pale green combo).

These are also suitable for people with real-foot problems. I have a very bad pronation and they have held up and held me up, wonderfully.

The only complaint is that Amazon doesn't carry enough of the colour combinations in different sizes!I'd buy not one more pair, but a cupboard-full!

I have a lot of trouble finding a comfortable shoe. I was visiting San Francisco and had trouble with the shoes I was wearing very quickly. We stopped at a shoe store to get me some new shoes and I picked the Saucony Jazz because I liked the style and they looked comfortable. I put them on, and they were, and I hoped that they would stay that way because a lot of walking can change that very quickly. These shoes didn't have to be broken in at all. They were perfect from day one, I can wear them for everything I do, and the ones I have from San Francisco are still in great condition even after serious abuse over the course of 2 1/2 years. I got these the other day, since my old pair is all black and I wanted another version of the Jazz. The colors are interesting, but I love them just as much as my old pair. They are just as comfortable as the pair I had been wearing for 2 1/2 years without needing a break in. I highly recommend these.

I love Saucony's so when I needed new shoes, I got these. They're super comfy to walk in but murder to stand in which is why I'm not giving them a 5. I talked to a salesman at the Saucony store who said their shoes are meant for action and movement, not standing...which is true. So, if you're a cashier or stand in line a lot, these may not be the best choice. I'm about 60 lbs overweight and find these extremely comfortable to walk in. I do overpronate a little and wish they had stiffer support on the inside to keep my ankle from rolling in, but that can be fixed with inserts. They're cute, they breathe easy and don't need to be broken in..they're flexible...so you can't go wrong with these. I'd love to have more in different colors!
