I seriously wanted this shoe to work! It's not going to though. I had read some reviews on the Neo Trail and just a few on the Breatho, as it's not had enough time on the market to get the big name review sites to tear it down. Anyways, the Neo had issues with lugs breaking off, and supposedly they addressed that with this one.
After a short run on a trail I've been on many times in other shoes, I was faced with the lugs on the red "V" on the bottom already tearing off and eventually one hanging by a sliver of rubber. I love these shoes, but I see no reason in ever trying a pair again until they use a material that is FAR more resilient. I know the pattern and size is different, but my Merrell Trail gloves have 100s of miles on them and there's not one shred of the tread coming off, just wear and tear.
I've returned the shoes to amazon with the lug taped to the proper shoe and hope for a refund, as an exchange is not going to work, considering all I do is trail run, it's just going to happen again. Come race day, I'd never wear a shoe with that looming in my thoughts.
Again, I seriously wanted these shoes to work out, because everything about them meets my personal "requirements" for a trail shoe... minus the horrendous durability of the sole. If no one else is having this issue, you must not be running on an actual trail. I'm only 136lbs, so someone who is 150+ would be annihilating these shoes.
Vivobarefoot, PLEASE use a better material! hire Vibram or another outside source because you're current one is taking a great shoe and ruining it :(
