I was looking for a shoe that had enough room in the toe box for the long downhill hiking trips and these shoes do the trick. I have worn them once on a 5 mile hiking trail and had no problems with my feet. When I wear regular Nike running shoes for a long hike, I usually end up with a subungal hematoma but not with these shoes! I tried on the Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 and found the XA comp 7 trail running shoes more comfortable, not as stiff, with a larger toe box. I normally wear a size 7 in shoes. I bought a size 7 and they fit perfectly. They are meant to be a little roomier in the front.

This is my 5th pair of Salomon activity shoes purchased over the past couple years. This is actually the 3rd pair of this exact style and color that I have purchased so far. I purchased the other 2 pairs locally a few months ago so that I could try the fit. Supportive. I wear them to work without apology and receive many compliments on the appearance, but I really have to wear them in order to avoid exacerbating my plantar fasciitis which affects both heels. This shoe does the trick.

I have these shoes and absolutely LOVE them! They are water proof so perfect for hiking in the PNW. Needless to say I wear these shoes all the time. I've bought them just under a year ago but now the fabric is starting to rip apart in the same spot at both my feet: at the big toe, where it bends when walking. I've never had this before and believe it is the product, not a user error.
Due to the price & reputation of Salomon, I expected them to be of better quality and to hold up longer than 1 year.
This is too bad since it is a great product. It'll be hard to find a similar shoe that fits so well again!

This shoe was as comfortable as an old pair of jeans from the first time I put them on. I have broken arches so my feet hurt all the time. These shoes really support my feet and help to keep the arches supported so very little pain! I will definitely buy these again! I will also be telling all my walking friends!

The fit is flawless. They're the most comfortable shoes I think I've ever owned. Throw a pair of good socks in there and you could walk for days on end without feeling a thing. They breathe, they flex, and if the last pair of Salomons I had were any indication, they last a good long while.
