I'm still putting these shoes through their initial paces, but that's because I've got two other pairs of Pearl Izumis (SyncroFloat IVs and Kissakis) that I rotate on runs. I absolutely love the Pearl Izumi brand: I'm in my sixth year of some pretty decent outdoor running mileage, and have never switched brands. Pearl Izumis take me through 90-140 road miles a month, year in and year out, without injuries. At age 47, that's saying something! I've tried 5-6 different models, and have had some I like more (keep going back to the SyncroFloats), but every shoe I've had has WORKED for 400 road miles or more, which is what a good shoe should do. I run on Las Vegas sidewalks and roads, which test not only any runner, but any shoe that's hitting that surface in 100+ degree summer temperatures.

The EM Road N 2 is built a bit differently that other models I've worn, perhaps more of a subtle back to front rocker motion, but so far so good. It's snug through the ankle/heel,which is good if your foot is on the narrow side, like mine. But it's also roomy enough up front to wiggle the toes and very, very light (more so than other models I've had) with some really nice design features. Colors are fun! Again, I can't say enough about this brand as a whole and I'm excited to put the EM Road N 2 to work. Pearl Izumis have earned my loyalty.

I don't have a problem with the shoesthe shoes are great after we got a pair in the right size (6.5)I am VERY dissappointed with Amazon return policy. There return policy states said they would replace with another size for the same price which was not the case. They would not pay the difference! Bad customer service!!!!!. Good shoes.

This neutral show was a nice change for me from my old Brooks running shoes. I recently developed a bunion (grrrrr) and needed a more flexible upper. The EM Road N 2 has a seamless upper that I don't feel at all. For that matter I don't really feel my feet when I run in these puppies. Oh and there is lots of room for health toe splay too. Squishy is not the right word because they don't make it hard to run or impede me in any way but they really are super soft when they hit the ground. Oh and I like the color! One things, if you are use to a shoe that springs back at each step, note that this shoe will take a small amount of getting use to. The energy return falls a bit flat but I seem to be developing new muscle tone as a result of working a bit harder during my runs so I am not complaining. And finally I went to a running clinic recently and it was noted that my heel strike is much improved with this new shoes. I am landing more toward the front of my foot now. This is not a minimalist shoe but you do feel the road and what it is doing to you more than many other over controlling, corrective, padded shoes on the market. I really do love these underassuming shoes.

I have been looking for a bright running shoe to add to my collection, and I tried on some Pearl Izumi N2s at an expo and loved them, so I ordered them here to see if I remembered the colors right. When they arrived, they were as obnoxious as I had remembered. The teal and tomato colors are definitely eye-catching, but for the wrong reasons.

Comfort, fit and style, this shoe has it all. It is an amazing shoe that is instantly comfortable and fits right and that's why I gave it 4 stars. And when it comes out in more tolerable bright colors, I will probably buy it. But unless you're looking for the same type of attention that clowns get from children-you know, that combination of excitement and sheer horror-steer clear of this color.
